Dumba was never going anywhere. Pete is showing his hand. Look at the past three games. Nils was scratched cause Pete wants more “size” on the backend. Lundkvist won’t be playing in the playoffs. For Nils sake I hope he gets a chance elsewhere. Smaller defenders do make it in this league just not under DeBoer.

I get the concern, because the dynamic of the lineup has changed the last few games with Smith at forward as opposed to Blumel.. and Dumba on the backend instead of Lundkvist. It does change the team for sure.

Ignoring the skill, goal scoring, puck moving, etc.. I understand the perspective from the staff because this team is small and weak.

It would have been nice if we got that size in another way though, like getting a checking energy 4th liner instead of 5'8 Blackwell as an example. The GM has built this team soft and small from top to bottom without any grit at all.

Small defenders who put up good offensive numbers make it. You can't be small and also produce at a Craig Ludwig rate and stay in any NHL lineup.

Maybe he will get a shot elsewhere. I mean, I think it says something that he was allowed to become a UFA this past summer, and the best he could get was this small one-year deal with the Stars. I just don't see there being many chances available.

He showed a lot more offensive promise when he first joined us than he does now. No idea if that's a confidence thing or if it was coached out of him.

His numbers have never been great, though. They were decent at best early in his Stars' tenure, and now they're just terrible.

Ok, so I got some confirmation on what I've been saying.

Nill is waiting until after 4 Nations to make a move, unless something comes up he can't refuse. He wants to see if something happens to one of our guys before doing anything.

9.85m in LTIR being available just wasn't enough, for his "big game" target of Nelson or Zucker.
Or he was looking for an extra excuse to sit on his hands, and depending on the term Miros out for, he finally got it.


It'll be like '21, when he knew Seguin was going to be out for the whole year, but waited until after the deadline to put him on LTIR

Feel like the best case scenario her is 8 to 10 weeks.

Pete didn't say those words in his post game, pretty sure he said they will take some pictures on his leg and pray it's OK.

He may have said it in a different interview last night, the post doesn't say.

Can't confirm, but appears from some radio call today, but was from a social post so could be wrong.

Just seeing this. I’m not seeing it from anyone legit so not going to worry until a closer source confirms that. Radio person could have just exaggerated what PDB said last night.
