The entire situation is still confusing, first Robert Tiffin reports on the CBA agreement section 16.5(b) that states:

(b) December 24, Christmas Day, and December 26 shall be off-days for all
purposes, including travel, and no Club may request a Player’s consent to practice on such days
for any reason, provided, however, if December 26 falls on a Saturday and the League has
scheduled NHL Games on such date, December 23 may be substituted as an off-day for all
purposes, including travel, instead of December 26.

Then, he proceeds to copy what was reported from The Athletic stating that no.. infact a MEMO went out saying no travel or ice time can be provided. So what is the truth? What the NHL makes up in the memo or what is in the CBA agreement? Because currently there is two conflicting statements.

Look forward to the investigation and more details coming forward because right now people are speculating 100% without all the details.

I doubt the CBA is a unanimous vote by all players and all players want down time. I’m sure it was put in there cause there are dumb teams and coach’s that made players practice. But not all players celebrate all holidays. Not all players have family here. All I’m saying is if someone wants to skate and work on his game he should be allowed. It is a silly rule to punish for a player wanting to skate. Prevent team and coaches all you want but not the players. That is all I was saying.

Now based on what that CBA says if this is being investigated there is something else here other than an open ice for players. I blame DeBoer and Spott. Fire both.

Doesn't matter one bit whether it's unanimous, it's the agreement the league and players live by. If players want to skate they don't need to do it at team facilities.

The memo seems pretty clear. The league gave teams instructions, and the Stars didn't follow instructions.

I think you're searching for an out that doesn't exist.

Okay. I was just trying to look at it from a players perspective who may not celebrate that holiday and wanted to work on his game. A young guy who was not around when they agreed on the CBA and has no family in this country. I was agreeing the team and coaches should stay out but a guy should be allowed to use the facilities to work on his game. They also change rules in CBAs all the time when a new one is due.

Just trying to bring another perspective. I’m not saying don’t punish Dallas either. You break rules you pay a price. I just think they need to adjust the rule to accommodate a player.

The distinction here is that a player would be free to drop-in to one of the other Starcenters open to the public if they wanted to skate that badly but using exclusive team facilities that they've been "encouraged" to participate in is another story.

Technically the rink in Frisco is not an exclusive rink. They play high school and rec games there as well as public skate

Do we have an update with how long March is out? Could always claim JP to play on the 4th line until March is back.

He's nothing special, but he's not a terrible 4th liner. He's bigger and hits lots, which Nill was rumored to be looking for.

The Stars can’t have enough wingers who provide zero offense.
Puljujarvi in 24-25 at EV (220 minutes) would rank as follows out of 21 Stars skaters this year with >50 mins of TOI...

6th in PTS/60 (1.9)
4th in xGF60 (3.07)
4th in iXG/60 (0.91)

makes me think for sure- the deserve to win meter would go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
