2024-25 General Dallas Stars Talk

Maybe not just yet.

Would like the team to turn some momentum and strong play around for some better signs for playoff intensity.

Beat Vancouver tomorrow then go hard at Winnipeg in a playoff style matchup.

If Dallas do win both it's back to 1 point with 3 to play, can assess remaining effort from there.

If Dallas loses either of next 2...then yeh start resting key players for the final week

We need to win at least one game so we can guarantee home ice against the Avs though.

I just cannot get over how shitty the right sided defensemen are. Nill royally fudged up with this.

Without Heiskanen it's gotta be amongst the worst defenses (or at least right sides) a team has ever entered the playoffs with lol, let alone a contender

I’m trying to be hopeful but if i’m a betting man, i’m probably taking Colorado.

That being said, I still believe the Stars can win against the Avs. It will just take Otter stealing games, and our offense coming alive again.

"But he played 20minutes a night that was 2 goals away from a Cup win"
or something like that when I said he was a garbage pickup.

Literally our right side, looks like something a lotto team would roll out, not a PO team.

2 7th d men and a 6th. Not good

The key to winning a playoff series is to figure out how to dictate play. Right now we bend over and take it for 40-50 mins a game for the last 2 months.

If we continue to bend over, we will continue to get railed.

IIRC, Soucy actually has/had a NTC. Plus he's a LHD anyway, even if he can play the right (I have no idea which side he played w/Vancouver).

Either way, we've had an unusual amount of injuries this year and roster limits exist. Would have been nice to get another competent RHD though

Also I will observe that this game is spilled milk- whats done is done. Either they’ll dig deep and come out the other side stronger or they won’t- but better now than in the playoffs anyway. Let’s see how they respond.

March hockey tends to not mean a lot for contenders. Let's hope that trend continues and this team actually can flip a switch in a few weeks.

Still hope.

Also another thing to factor in. Curious on how well he'll be able to contribute after 3 years off.
