So outside of Jones and Karlsson, who feel like long-shots, who are some other defenders we could target?

Kings need to move a dman but it won't be Clarke.

Islanders have picked up 3 defenders in the past couple of weeks. Maybe they move someone. They've won 6 straight games

Rangers maybe. Could see them move Lindgren who isn't great

Montreal with a guy like Savard

Feel for Nils. His offence wasn't there this year but he passed the eye test on the defensive side of the puck. I wonder if we see him back.

I'd be surprised if he ends up playing a game, but I guess things may be desperate now with how bad Capobianco was last night

I don't really see these call-ups as legit playing options. Definitely not McDonald he's been terrible this year for Texas

If this is a move for a trade, I think this initial trade will be quite small. Likely just any NHL level defender they could find

I just think there is very little room for offensive only defenseman in the NHL these days. And he's not the biggest guy around. He's got a tough road IMO

Kyrou was called up to maximize LTIR space. They called up the AHL contracts that got them as close to the cap as was possible . When they used LTIR during the whole season they did that dance on the day they had to finalize the opening roster

Maybe I'm just on the spectrum or something, but some of this cap shit is fascinating to the point that I would legit watch some Road to the Winter Classic type series about what the cap folks do in the background during the season.
