Lebrun reporting that Carolina has backed off of Gibson after the return of freddy to the lineup.

But hadn't they always known he was coming back? Also, he has not looked great, we will see if he can improve with some more starts.

It’s an interesting thought, if we want to sign a real top 6 forward(preferably a top line one). Someone that’s being paid a bit right now has to go right? His value is worth his contract this season. Vatrano resigned, Trouba may get another contract next summer from us(he’s a dman but I’m talking in terms of being able to trade strome and replace his leadership via Trouba )

I said at the beginning of the month that January would be very telling, and it is. If we had even gone 4-2 on the road trip, the standings would look a lot different.

Get what we can for Dumoulin, Fabbri, and maybe Leason too and move on.

unfortunately, i don't think Dumo or Fabbri would garner much value wise assuming its draft capital.

I would be shocked if there was any interest in Leason.

After the way Dumoulin looked the first 25 games of the season I would have thought a 2nd rounder would have been attainable but I think you’re right. He hasn’t been bad but he hasn’t looked great either so I’m guessing his value has dropped a bit.

Edmonton should be all over Dumo, no? It feels like they always could use a defensive defenseman. This one has some great SC experience too.

Personally, I wouldn't mind the Oilers winning it with Perry. If so, would be cool to have Dumo there as well. I have liked him here.
