Trading a 23 year old for another 23 year old that has less points than your 23 year old has assists seems like a bad idea.Pinto for zegras and watch all your heads explode.
I'd rather give those guys up than sign 98% of the deals that got signed today. And the 2% of deals I would sign (Lomberg, Stenlund, etc.) aren't the type of players who would require good prospects in trade. The picks and prospects that will return a good top 4D or top 6F are exactly the ones you won’t want to give up.
Would rather give up minor assets for cap dumps who are decent players on slightly inflated short term deals - compared to giving a similar player a ridiculous long term deal. There was very little that happened today that I feel envious of
Wow… if only young players improved instead of staying exactly the same as their 1st or 2nd year, this team could get better.
It’s July 1st, so many chicken littles and drama queens here.
Red Wings got Talbot... so guessing theyre out on Gibby.
Would love to acquire him somehowI wonder what's happening with McGroarty
Not much I'm guessing. What could we get for a 2025 top 10 protected first?
If the team is bottom 3 again without a ton of injuries causing it, signing two players wouldn’t have put the team in the playoffs. Will you change your tune if we're bottom-3 again? How many years of that is too much?
A roster only has 23 players. No way we're able to keep everyone that becomes NHL ready, especially in a year or two.The picks and prospects that will return a good top 4D or top 6F are exactly the ones you won’t want to give up.
I'd be fine with moving any of our young players not currently in the NHL (obviously players just drafted are excluded from this) depending on the player we'd be going for.The picks and prospects that will return a good top 4D or top 6F are exactly the ones you won’t want to give up.
This is the time of year when teams are trying to improve not give up top players for unproven prospectsA roster only has 23 players. No way we're able to keep everyone that becomes NHL ready, especially in a year or two.
You'd hope the Washington Capitals would have a better idea of what's happening in the league then posting the question on twitterI just saw a tweet from capfriendly:
Are the Ducks really the only team in the NHL who hasn’t signed anyone?????
LaCombe isn’t going to return a top 4 RHD or top 6RW unless the package gets much sweeterI'd be fine with moving any of our young players not currently in the NHL (obviously players just drafted are excluded from this) depending on the player we'd be going for.
In terms of our NHL players, maybe unpopular but I can see LaCombe getting moved this off-season in a package for an upgrade. Don't see him beating out Minty/Zellweger and don't think his long term NHL future is playing on the right side.
They still have Lyon, too.No idea what DET is up to with the goalies. Husso, Talbot and now Campbell
