I think I'm at the point now where I'll be upset if they trade Dumoulin at the deadline. I can't imagine getting enough of a return that would be of more value than his play, leadership, and stability. Unless he doesn't want to be in Anaheim, I hope they re-sign him for a year or two. He is the exact type of veteran that the whole team needs.
He’s gonna be 34 at the start of next year. He’s going to go to whoever gives him 3 years, or a legit cup chance. If he won’t re-sign, we need to get rid of him, and this is from someone who thinks he’s been our most reliable guy.

He reminds me of Lydman. I don't worry about him, I just trust him to do his job. A little more offensive flair than Lydman had though

I don't disagree that if he communicates to the team he won't re-sign or will only take a 3 year deal, then they should trade him. No reason to waste an asset for nothing. However, if he's willing to stay for a year or two, seems like a no-brainer.

Wasn't it reported that he wanted a trade to the east coast and ended up in Anaheim instead?
Not that he couldn't have changed his mind in the meantime, of course, but it's probably safer to assume he doesn't want to stay and be pleasantly surprised if it works out otherwise.

I agree totally, but Lydman had some great rushes in him. Visnovsky rub off on him, heh. He also played a bit more aggressive when playing with national team. He was great in '06 and '10 olympics.

Man. I miss a lot of players these days. I can't even begin to count.. Jiggy, Beauch, Visnovsky, Lydman, Nieds, Special Nieds, Sammy, Getz and Pears.. damn, getting old is weird.

I still love Zegras, Leo, Zell etc. I better start appreciating them, since I'll be nostalgic about these guys in 20 years. Hopefully.

I dont think i really followed non NHL players until like Getz/Perry.... so anyone before that i respect as NHL'rs but i wasnt nearly as invested in them as i was people post Getzlaf/Perry era, that i watched/read about as they went through the hockey ranks.

If thats true a guy like Lindgren could make sense next season.
Lindgren has had too many injuries to warrant the contract he’s going to get. He’s a tough guy, but someone is going to give him 5 years and I don’t want any part of that.

EDIT: Kovacevic, Gavrikov, Fabbro, Orlov, Pettersson, and maybe Borgen interest me at the moment.

Wedgewood making his debut in relief, was probably not what they had drawn up. Georgiev allows 4 goals on 8 shots, this dude is broken.
Assuming Gibby still wants to leave, it makes too much sense for it not to happen for the Avs.

The question is what it looks like for us. Our biggest need is a young RD and our second biggest need is a goal-scoring winger, and the Avs have neither in their prospect pool.

Same here. Getzlaf and Pears made me want to pick up my skates and stick and be kid again. It's weird how those guys might not realize how much they meant to us. I woke up every morning between 2 and 5 am to watch these guys play. It was a f***in' blast and would do it again.

Except I won't with team, until they show me something they showed in the beginning of last season. They'll get there, I think, maybe, I hope.
