I also just realized that if Detroit gets Trouba, that likely means they are out on Matt Roy.

That’s why I’m not too optimistic of what are chances are in FA to acquire the bigger named guys.

yeah i straight up dont expect us to add anyone of real quality. we'll end up with the least valuable FA that we still have to overpay for.

Dang, I would have beaten that deal for Marino if I was Verbeek. Maybe they have their sights set on someone else, but Marino is a very good defender.

He's actually become a sneaky good defender, almost like a left handed Vats. Never gonna get the PP time there behind Chabot, Sanderson etc

I found him very comparable to Sami when I watched him live in his first couple prospect camps in Vegas. I don't think he ever quite reached peak Sami level but I think he'd be fine on a third pair in the NHL. I just don't know if I like him for the Ducks unless he has an out of nowhere spike in performance.
