HC Venom played surprisingly well in Watertown, building a 5-2 lead in the 3rd period before the Wolves trimmed the score to 5-4. HCV held on, and now will have a week to find a practice facility to get ready for their next rescheduled game.

More Fed Trivia from Friday night play ... The Continental Division's 1st place Baton Rouge head coach Everett Thompson received a bench minor & game misconduct penalties in the 3rd period game vs. Monroe. So the Zydeco equipment manager Keith LaCour had to take over coaching duties for just under half of the final regulation period & the OT session & the shootout. Final Score in this episode of the "Battle of Louisiana" = Moccasins 4 - Zydeco 3 (SO)

Rock Lobsters fans get their first chance to toss their teddies (the stuffed kind) when ARL takes a 1-0 home lead over the Columbus River Dragons about 12 minutes into the 1st period.

River Dragons overcome a one-goal deficit for the 3rd time tonight in Athens, tying the Rock Lobsters 3-3 with less than a minute left in regulation. RD & RL going to OT for the 3rd time in their season series.

Athens & Poughkeepsie are trying to catch up with the rest of the teams in Games Played, but I'd only hold my breath for the Rock Lobsters to make it there by season's end. Meanwhile, the Sea Wolves & HC Danville really suck, eh?
