2024-25 EPL Season

They have the best set pieces (even if those have gotten a little cold) and the best defense in the league. How are they not the best equipped team to win 1-0? Who is then? Arsenal can ride out 1-0s during their high class Stoke impression
Perhaps we've gone a little cold on set piece goals because one of our corner kick takers (Saka) has been out for ~3 months and his replacements haven't been delivering the same quality.

Also I'm now curious - where should we slot in a Gravenberch injury in the importance pecking order? Somewhere above Saka, but below Joe Gomez?

Gravenberch more important than Gomez, so definitely more important than Saka

Konate injured today too. Had to go off at halftime. Dropping like flies

Alisson subbed out with head injury today as well

Haaland supposed to be done for the season, although they seem to be counting the club world cup for this season which he should be back for. City only has a 1 point lead on Newcastle and Brighton for 5th. England is getting a 5th CL spot next season, right?

It will likely be 100% confirmed once the 1/4s are done, but yes it's extremely likely that it'll be England and Spain has a very high chance of being the other one with 5.

England actually has a non-trivial chance of 6 teams in the CL since United or Spurs could get the spot by winning the EL and neither of them are remotely close to taking an actual top 5 spot in the PL.

Edit: And if Villa made a cinderlla run in the CL they could have 7.

Imagine a world where 7 PL clubs make the CL but City isn't one of them

Great picture choice

Not sure anything impactful comes of it but glad at least someone has common sense

I read that Chelsea are trying to negotiate the punishment into a financial penalty and a three year spending plan, violation of which would result in a one year ban from European competitions. UEFA will announce the decision mid May.

Yeah I mean this is classic Todd Boehly playbook stuff. Did the same thing with the Dodgers when they were cheating on the international signings. They just eat the fine because the penalty is worth the reward

I think with UEFA, there's a chance they'll throw in a transfer ban for one or two windows as well. Which they really should.

Will believe it when I see it. Transfer ban would probably help Chelsea. They’d just recall their loan army and restart the cycle
