I don't think anyone who wasn't an Arsenal or Newcastle fan was paying attention to that game last night. Real Madrid was playing at the same time and the Ars/New tie was pretty clear from the first leg.

Arsenal is a minor inconvenience to me, I was hatewatching Real last night, that's where the real hate is at. I actually had Leverkusen on the second screen cause Wirtz is a must watch player right now. Your must watch player is out injured.

Yeah that is true, but he really didn't do much of anything in the end. He sold his share to Kroneke's really quick. Roman for how awful he is as a person, was a pretty damn good owner. He never settled for second place, always fired and made moves that kept a winning culture even if some of those trophies were flukes like their first CL win where they won over Barca due to shoddy reffing. Usmanov in the same decade penny pinched Wenger and barely bought anybody to compete (some of that was due to the Emirates loan). Both had loads of funds, but how they used them was night and day, so my point still stands. If we had Roman, we would have won the CL forty times if Wenger was allowed to have Real Madrid's level of spending as Chelsea had, but with Wenger's brilliant elegance in charge.

This isn't even true. He was the largest shareholder for a very short period of time, but he never had more than a 30% stake in the club and the directors basically adopted a poison pill to avoid him taking over the club.

Jesus Christ give it a rest. Arsenal fans have lost their heads in recent months, try getting the decisions Forest have had against them. We had a player sent off for winning a tackle AND getting caught.

Not interested enough about Arsenal so can't be botherd to check, but you're probably right about how long he was the largest shareholder. Morale issues aside, but the fact remains Arsenal had the Roman A. level money available for them as Usmanov wanted to purchase the club wholly and spend huge money to bring success to Arsenal.
But like you said, the other owners chose rather to concentrate on boardroom and ownership battles, and sacrificed sporting success on this altar. So they de facto let the club, manager, players and fans down. But you can't cry poor and lack of silverware compared to others like Chelsea when it was your own making.
Good for rest of the league and European teams, who got to enjoy the trophies, while Arsenal chose to "enjoy" higher moral ground, I suppose.

Just want to make sure I have this straight... your argument is essentially "you can't cry poor for not having a Russian oligarch owner, because you had one available to you but your club decided that morals were more important and refused to let him takeover the club."
I'm pretty sure us not succumbing to the Russian oligarchy is a good thing, and we can very much criticize Chelsea for doing the opposite. Not something their fans can control, but that's the reality of their club.

I was only responding to Seph's post, where he claimed "Arsenal would have won the CL five times in a row if we were allowed to have access to Roman's bloody Russian pro-war-and-oil money at the time when Russia wasn't getting sanctioned and oil was 100 dollars a barrel.".
Arsenal had and was allowed access to similar money, they just deliberately decided not use that money. Their choice, but they can't blame anyone else that themselves for that. To Seph's credit, he did admit that disregarding non-footballing issues, Abra was a good owner for Chelsea bringing success to the club.
