Huh, seems like a classic authoritarian bully tactic, like when someone calls the government out for something and then has random trumped up charges levelled against them

Except the N word....
They literally decided they should start cracking down on goal celebrations when a young black player did it...

Not just the refs though. The English media is a joke.

Think about this - Haaland told 18 year old MLS "who the f*** are you?" in our game against City months ago, and their whole team celebrated a draw against us at the Etihad. Then MLS came back and delivered a 10/10 performance against City with a fantastic goal and used Haaland's celebration. Rather than hype up that performance from a young talent, a lot of the English media is playing the celebration police, with some even saying that someone should intentionally injure him for his celebration.

If that was Foden or Palmer, the English media would be showing his highlights for a month, but no it's a black player for Arsenal. Hell, they even tried making excuses for Foden giving the ball away leading to the second goal, but god forbid MLS celebrate his first PL goal.

I won’t go into this black or white debate cause that’s a different dicussion. This goes beyond that. What it is really about is that when everyone else does what Gabriel and MLS did on sunday it’s hilarious banter. When Arsenalplayers does it it’s just a disgrace, have not won anything etc.

i know that everything has to be about the singular and unique oppression of Arsenal, but Iliman Ndiaye was literally booked for his celebration like a week ago

Still not the point here. It’s about why it’s hilarious when the likes of Vardy does these things and cringe when Arsenalplayers does it? Has nothing to do with if it’s being punished by the refs or not.

I mean I'm tired of it happening to us and having to talk about it, but please tell me all of the other examples of:
  • Player sent off for a second yellow for kicking the ball away / delaying restart (Arsenal x2)
  • Penalty given for a clash of heads in the box (Saliba x1, then not called in a game this past week)
  • Player sent off for a clearly non-violent/reckless clinical foul, and then when its overturned the FA still punished the club for surrounding the ref
    • No FA action taken against Bruno / United for the same exact thing
    • FA and media accused the manager and club of instigating fans to make threats against the ref for his incompetence
  • Haaland throws ball at Gabriel's head celebrating City's goal against us with no outrage/reaction, but MLS getting negative FA/media reaction to his
    • Countless other players celebrated for their celebrations in the past, but now its a problem: Anthony Gordon mocked Saka's corner flag celebration against us this year, Adebayor ran the length of the field against us, Lingard did the milly rock against us
  • Refs and media complaining about manager's touchline antics (Arteta vilified, Klopp was celebrated for it)
  • Media calls it "dark arts" when we score from corners, even though other teams previously employed the same tactics against us
Like I wish I was making this up and it wasn't happening in plain sight, but it is. There's definitely things for other teams/fans to complain about as well, but Arsenal has been on the wrong end of a lot of decisions by the refs / FA / PGMOL, and we get more media criticism than big clubs that are treading above the relegation zone.

We just handed Pep one of his most embarrassing losses since taking over City, but the media is focused on criticizing Arsenal's celebrations. And to Pep, Haaland, and City's credit, they aren't complaining about it at all - it's everyone else.

You lot are just so unlikable, sorry
I don't know if you mean the team or the fans on here, but the crazy thing is that everyone else here will say "oh there goes the Arsenal fans complaining and making it about themselves again" and then when we reply with objective points you guys all shut up until the next opportunity to make the same comment.

Well, @KJS14 you must have a theory on why this happens only to Arsenal. Would you mind sharing it?
I don't have any kind of massive ref conspiracy theory, unlike some Liverpool fans in the past. But I do think Michael Oliver is specifically biased against us based on decisions from multiple games.

Nah, I don't mind the fans on here too much. It's the team, Arteta, the style of play, the constant time wasting, the fouling the goalkeeper, Thomas Rapey etc. I must admit I like Saka and Rice though, they seem good people, but it's not enough.

the style of play
Which is what? Arsenal played one of the highest defensive lines in all of Europe last season with a constant high press (haven't seen stats for this year). We've literally used very similar tactics to Pep's Man City, but its "dark arts" when we play 4 CBs (that aren't even really CBs).

the constant time wasting
If we didn't have multiple BS red cards this year, then we'd be middle of the pack in terms of time wasting stats.

the fouling the goalkeeper
When teams previously employed the same or similar tactics to score against Arsenal it was funny - "oh there's Arsenal's poor set piece defending again." But now that Arsenal is good at set pieces it's "dark arts."
