Just wait until you get as old as me 'n' Mrs. JMC. You'll change your tune. It's like the grankids-grandparents dynamic: They're very cute & well behaved when they arrive; but by the time you reach the mid-Period 1 TV time out, you'll want to send them all back home to their parents.... Anyway, I know this is late, but the early morning games for the school kids is one of the things I love the most about the ECHL. ...
Not sure what age you and Mrs. JMC are, but I am no spring chicken myself. I love the idea of the morning game for the kids. Taking one to that game is not on my radar for many years to come unless my nieces and nephew show interest. I do like the idea of going to a game early in the day, but 1:00 is early enough for me. (I worked midnight shift too many years to not sleep in.)Just wait until you get as old as me 'n' Mrs. JMC. You'll change your tune. We are both "retirement age" and taking advantage of those privileges. But since my fall/winter/spring hobby is hockey road trips involving multiple stops (with my co-pilot enjoying the scenery between her naps), I occasionally end up having to schedule a daytime game to maximize our hockey watching on a trip. While we each understand the value to the hockey markets of catering to school groups, the "atmosphere" at such games is a cross between a Taylor Swift concert & a post-Stanley Cup winner street riot. Not sure what age you and Mrs. JMC are, but I am no spring chicken myself. It'll take three months alone just to reapply all of those playing surface sponsor ads.FW Komets getting a new ice plant in the off-season, it's expected to last 20-30 years. The team will spend at least the first two weeks of next season on the road.
