Prospect Info: 2024-25 Ducks Prospects

Watched about half Sennecke’s second game - mind you the only time watching him - but he seemed quite passive, especially in the defensive zone. Seems to just stand around and wait around for a cherry pick. Just very passive. Think he was on the ice for 3 or 4 goals against I think. On the offensive zone, definitely getting Corey Perry vibes, just always going straight around the net and uses his size. Feels like one of the few guys that would be able to play on the boards and cycle well. Still needs some time for sure though.
There is definitely some immaturity in his game. The skill is there for sure, but he’s going to need a tough coach at some point. Hopefully the Ducks keep him around for a bit at the start of next season.

he’s definitely a long term project. Which is okay but I’m not expecting an sort of real impact from him at the NHL until he’s 21-22 personally.

Q will obviously be good for him to learn from in his first 2 years in the league

Solberg just said he'll play for the Gulls next season.

When asked about his decision: "I love it there, and NA hockey. It's also easier for the Ducks to have a player available in no time". SHL? "That chapter is closed".
Awesome.... i go to a good chunk of gulls games.... but its much easier to go when they have promising talent on the roster.

Sennecke with a pretty solid cross check to Sim after the whistle (tho i feel it was embellished a bit))

and sennecke just took a penalty... might be a 5 min(i assume overturned).... look like he caught the leg.

London up 2-0

Oshawa started hot, london got the lead and then turned up..... sennecke needs to get going offensively if they want a shot at this game/series.

Cowan has been a series changer the last 2 games.

Halttunen also looks pretty damn good (we took myatovic and left him there for san jose)

Button going off on the Sennecke hit(video below)

My question is should you be taking a long term project 3rd in the draft when you have some of the other players available we could have picked

Time will tell

Halttunen had Kaliyev vibes of being only able to score off of one-timers and on the PP, but Kaliyev carried a low motor scouting report. I had Halttunen as one of my possibilities with our 2nd round pick. Maybe Myatovic is a long term projection player for Madden and the scoring will eventually come. Myatovic did miss like half of his D+1 season due to injury. IIRC, he went on a scoring binge later in season with the Gulls. So who knows? But I thought he'd be more defensively inclined with some scoring. It was just his rookie season in the AHL.

Oshawa has some very talented players, but they don't execute nearly as well as London does, and London's captain and one of its best players (Barkey) isn't even playing.

Again, Sennecke has had some good moments, but he's far from dominant and he's got a lot to improve upon. I will say, even though he's rail thin, he protects the puck better than anyone on the ice.

That draft didn't exactly feature a lot of high upside non-projects. The guys from 2-12 were very close, just a matter of what question marks you were willing to live with.

Wasn't until the last angle that I even thought that was a penalty. Kid's gotta rein in the outstretched knee. You can't do that shit. I appreciate he wants to be physical and make an impact with big boy hockey but that kind of shit is only gonna hurt the team.

Dale Hunter had his troops prepared. He was a darned good player and is a darned good coach.

If he puts it all together Sennecke has NHL all-star potential. I hope he gets there. He's playing like he's frustrated which is not what a leader does. I hope he comes out next game with a quiet determination to carry the team on his back.
