2024-25 Ducks Prospects

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Don't create more of a Solberg drama than it really is, some pushing and shoving isn't losing self-control. And I'm getting a bit tired if this incident early in the season you constantly keep talking about. As others said, he took his punishment back then and it has never happened since.

Solberg's hits are well timed legal checks as they would also be in the NHL. He doesn't take a lot of penalties despite his physical game, in fact he only has 16 PIM in 47 games this season. And there's nothing wrong with his offensive skills, he showed that in the 4 nations Euro tournament back in January when he scored two goals, and received a best player award. Maybe this was because he was allowed to play his game without a coach keeping him on a leash...

In other hockey news...the SHL has reached the playoffs, and Färjestad ended up 4th in the standings which means the opponent in round 1 will be Skellefteå, best of 7. Game 1 is March 21.

You are proving my point that the coaching staff is developing Solberg up for success. And yet you keep harping the Farjestad coaches do not want Solberg to play the physical game, when that is a farce assessment. Solberg was the team's leading hitter by a mile (or km) early in the season until he FAFO. The coaches do not want Solberg going overboard and losing self-control. And the coaches have done so with Solberg having only 16 PIM in 47 games played, as you shared. You are literally making a case for the coaches.

The odd part of this discussion with you is you do not realize the Ducks have another defensive prospect in a similar situation who lacks self control in Dionicio. Dionicio was part of the Ducks' NA 2nd tier (AHL) club and got shipped across the pond to Switzerland because he didn't have self control. Are you now implying that both organizations are in the wrong and they should let 19 or 20-year olds dictate how to play at a men's level? I get your passion, but you put extra spin against Farjestad coaches like a kid lathering an excessive amount of whipped cream onto their ice cream cone.

We agree that Solberg is made for NA style play, but he doesn't play in the NA today. Today, Solberg is a part of a successful SHL team that finished 4th in the league and in the playoffs. Maybe Farjestad knows what they are doing. If the Ducks didn't believe in Farjestad, then they would have sent Solberg to a different league like they did with Solberg's teammate, G Clara.

In other hockey news, G Clara and Karpat (Liiga) lost today, 2-1, in the last regular season game. The loss pushed Karpat to 13th in the standings and out of playoffs. There is a possibility that Clara's season is not over yet because U20 Karpat is in the playoffs, with the series tied 1-1. Clara could be loaned to the U20 Karpat squad.

Clara's season ends with 1-2 loss. Sadly the winning goal was his fault. Their opponent was playing without a goalie in 1-1 situation because they wanted a 3 point win. Clara got the puck and tried to score on the empty net (or get the puck out of the zone, not sure). His shot failed and the puck ended up on the stick of opposing player who was able to score because Clara was a bit far from his own goal.

edit: Here is a video of the situation

Forgot to say that because Clara's team lost the game it also meant that they missed the playoffs.

ouch...that's gonna leave a mark...hopefully he'll learn from it.

Do you even watch the Färjestad games? Most of the information you have about Solberg are based on my reports here. It looks like you forgot what I told you a while ago, I'm working inside the Norwegian hockey community, without going into details. I get updated info on Norwegian players abroad almost on a daily basis. So what I've told you are not my opinions you call farce assessments, I'm only providing facts. No incorrect information, why on earth would I do that.

So when it comes to Solberg's physical game, remember I told you what one of their coaches said, they have shut down that part of his play because they want him to focus on other things. This was a few months ago, but they're obviously still bothering him, scratching him in a game last week because of a little scrum. You know he likes to play hard, but it looks like they're basically trying to eliminate it. And I don't like that at all, but I'm sure they won't succeed there. That being said, you probably know that the SHL isn't a very physical league in the first place, and fighting is banned...ejected + 2 games suspension.

But I'm actually finding your comments a little amusing, thinking that you're sitting on the other side of an ocean trying to lecture me about active Norwegian players. Finally, despite internal disagreements Solberg is still learning the game in the SHL. But Färjestad isn't his future, he only stays there because he's not ready to leave the nest yet and start playing NA hockey, now he's only a 3 hours drive from his home town and family. We'll see what happens next season, but right now it looks like he's staying another year there, something I'm sure you'll be happy about.

Don't sweat it everyone that posts on this board eventually receives their page long response telling them everything they know is wrong
