No wonder our barn mostly has piss poor energy.
Amateurish... they cant even pick up the phone to call people once a month to check in?
Our prospects are the future of the team. They should be regularly checking in with ALL OF THEM to see how they are developing and provide some feedback on what they need to do. We are in a highly competitive multi billion dollar industry with a singular goal to win a cup. We should be doing everything possible to achieve that goal.
So to get this straight, we need our scouts, or some player development people to be checking in regularly in person or via phone, to every player we have rights to in the ECHL / AHL / NHL / every league across the pond / OHL / WHL / QMJHL / College / etc.
So first, we need to create a new division. Hire what we call the creative team director of the prospect reach out initiate.
Then we need to have that person we will call him, CTD, then we we CTD to form a committee on how we as an organization define the term prospect. Does Leo count ? Or do we not need to reach out to him anymore since he’s in the NHL ? What age is a prospect no longer a prospect? What stats make it a prospect not worth investing more resources into ? Do we couldn’t ever roster player / draft pick as one until they die ?
Okay CTD’s committee has set organization rules for what a prospect is considered. What next ? Okay CTD has to hire communications liaison to the prospects, his name will be Carl. Carl then has to make sure we have mental health / player development / people afflicted with the Ducks organization who speak the languages of our prospects. You speak Russian, well we need to hire the best Russian speaking sports psychologist out there, the best Russian speaking sports physical trainer. We also then need to hire the best Russian to English translator in the world as well, in order to make sure nothing is lost in translation.
Like I understand frustration no one called the kid from our org, does that mean his agent never got a call? Basically of all the things to get up in arms of management about, you choose 1, 25 year old Russian kid having a breakout year. I hope he comes over and is a good player for us, but this is the hill you want to die on ?
