Prospect Info: 2024-25 Ducks Prospects

Sennecke has to get the 10 game treatment next season, right? I'm all for prospect cooking, but he's made a huge jump this last year, so you never know with these crazy offensive talents. Probably still goes back O and WJC, but would be nice to see him to get the chance.

Sennecke's still rail thin and I think he might get broken in a game where someone breathes on him. I think he might be on the Luneau load mgmt program next season, where he spends most of his time weight lifting before being sent to the WJC and then OHL.

Sounds about right. No need to rush him, but at the same time it would be nice to have to some more excitement.

Yeah for the record I do not want to rush him. Still if he looks even more improved in the training camp, then no reason not to give him a few games. I doubt our roster looks much better next season anyway, so the competion could be slimmer. Especially if an injury bug hits early. *

I've been watching all these highlights (thanks @Static) and him weaving through the ice makes him look a better skating Bobby Ryan at times. Ryan was sneaky good opening the ice when he could get in speed, and if he had better acceleration he would've thrived in today's league. Sennecke just has to grow to his body.

Sennecke also reads play very well in the offensive zone. That reminds me Winnipeg guys like Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor. Used to watch them because of Laine's first season, and they are guys who can make plays, but still always look to finish. If he pans out, I'll bet he'll be huge power play producer. **

I was sold when I watched his playoff highlights last season. He really came to his own and it's great he has made another jump. It's still early days so hard to gauge his potential, but I'm intrigued and low-key excited.

* We know it's gonna happen
** I mean if they can do the reverse exorcism on the PP. When was the last they did good? Too Getzlaf to check.

Sennecke has matched his career-best point total in the OHL, 68 points. Last year he reached it in 63 games, this year in 38. Has 20p in last 10 games and is on pace for 110 points this season. Currently 6th in the league

I don’t think Sennecke is fast enough or shifty enough to not get broken in half by someone like Trouba or Gudas. He doesn’t need another injury.

Hit the gym, kid.

Terrance finished with an assist.

Looks like he'll be getting a new coach in Erie. Longtime OHL coach Stan Butler was first suspended (for violating team policy) and now has been let go. No details but reading between the lines - the old guard can't get away with some of the old school "coaching" methods anymore.

Butler was in year three with Erie, after spending the prior 27 seasons with the Brampton/North Bay franchise.

We have dropped to 12th on the prospect pool ranking. Sure we graduated some good players but for a team as bad as we are we need to do a lot better than 12th.

"The Ducks have in essence swapped out graduates Cutter Gauthier and Olen Zellweger for newcomers Beckett Sennecke and Stian Solberg since last year’s ranking. I’d consider that a wash and yet they’re slotted a few spots lower. That’s in part because some other teams’ pools have improved but it’s also worth noting that I felt the pools ranked from 6-12 this year were all tightly bunched. The Ducks’ group would sooner move up than down and I debated them in the top 10."

Tier 1
1. Sennecke
Tier 2
2. Luneau
3. Solberg
Tier 3
4. Pettersson
5. Sidorov
6. T Smith
7. Hinds
8. Masse
9. Gaucher
10. Terrance
11. Clang
12. Pastujov
13. Myatovic
14. Burnevik
15. Suchanek

The good thing about our prospect pool top tier….. is they are 2 positions of need / 1 position of strength.

Need a top 6 RHW, well here’s Beckett, need a top 4 RHD, well here’s Luneau. Have many LHD prospects well here’s a two way, enforcer that makes on of the other LHD tradeable.

Our young graduated talent lines up with our soon to be talent, which is nice, although not the only thing that matters.

A terrifying, butt-clinching time to be a Ducks fan. Inching closer and closer to the moment/season-of-truth for the rebuild.
