Finished 2+0, 7 shots, 15/23 in faceoffs, second star of his game.
This is the time and place to draft these kind of players. Really nice find by our coaching staff – I'd hope they go for more offensive players earlier in the draft

Colangelo is currently in the top-3 in rookie scorers in the AHL. He also leads the AHL rookies in goal scoring. Surprisingly, he doesn't have a PP goal yet.

Saw this on Reddit. A lot of good plays that didn’t all end up in the net so quite a few highlights you wouldn’t normally see unless you were watching his games in full.

Beautiful plays. Too bad none of these moves would work in our dump & chase dinosaur system.

because we’re going to give up on them early and then theyre going to find success on other teams?

It is not about giving up on them. We have drafted three Defensive Players of the Year (DPoY) out of the CHL in Zell (WHL), Minty (OHL), and Luneau (QMJHL) as well as late bloomer Dionicio from the OHL. All four are high-end offensive d-men. All four have gone pro and none of them are tearing up their respective leagues right now. Adding yet another high scoring D from juniors (CHL) is great, but witnessing the same problems at the NHL level from last year into year 2 this year is sucking the joy from the organization.

On a similar note, we're probably gonna end up with another top-3 pick. I should be ecstatic with a top-3 pick, but I'm burnt out from the product on the NHL ice to care right now b/c it feels like we're gonna follow a decade of ineptness like Buffalo or Edmonton.
