Speculation: 2024-25 Coaching/Management/Ownership

I think the Ducks have a bright future, just need a good coach and a young starting goaltender.

I think Trouba helps with the veteran side of things though because that's something they do need.

I think if the Canucks do shop Demko would be the perfect spot for him to have a fresh start.
In what world would Anaheim want Demko? Who somehow is more injury prone then Gibson.

Demko is 29, that’s not a young starting goaltender. Not even to mention we have Dostal who actually is a young starting goaltender.

Cronin will be here next year.

He might be, but that's just LeBrun speculating...

“The Anaheim Ducks have improved in Cronin’s second season, and he seems to have eased up a bit after being a bit of a taskmaster in Year 1, which grated on some players,” LeBrun reported. “All things being equal, I think Ducks GM Pat Verbeek is good with Cronin coming back next season.

……..we might have the best young goalie in the league?

Damn. 24 year old G Dostal is still getting the "no name" goaltender treatment.

As for vet D, we have Gudas and Trouba. TBH, we need an improvement from those two as both should be third pairing guys.

There's also Dustin Wolf, a year younger and couple of inches shorter than Dostal. Guess Wheeler was right on hyping Wolf up, but he should have been hyping Dostal up all along. At least Wheeler did jump on the Dostal train last year, iirc.

uhh, have you heard of Dostal? he's 24 years old, 5 years younger than Demko is having a better season AND not isn't constantly injured. zero need for demko lol

Has that always been your avatar or is it some AI art of the OT McTavish goal?

I just hope PV says within a couple days of our season ending that Cronin is coming back so people can vent their frustrations early and we don’t have to spend the offseason speculating

Even if he does this, I will still speculate that it could be a ruse while he searches for another coach for the sake of my sanity/killing time in the off-season.

. Lol Wtf... It's your job dude. Oh btw I know why he doesn't wanna comment on it.. He told Zegras to take a shift off and z went bonkers on the bench.

If that is true, Dude had a goal and an assist in the 1st period and gets benched for Strome on the 5 on 3 PP, I’d be upset. Also, why is Leo net front presence? Taking away his abilities there. Because he is tall and can screen the goalie? Come on now.
Getting replaced for Strome who, since the start of march has 5 points, with 1 goal and just one power play point; id be livid too.

Derek Lee asked Cronin about Gudas play wavering from last year. Cronin's response was "I don't think his performance has wavered." Anyone with a brain can see it has. Maybe he is lying to protect his captain?

This guy is out to lunch. The lineup decisions. The scheme. He doesn't have any answers to questions. He seems like kind of a dick. The emphasis on defense and the team still sucking on defense while relying on goalkeeping. His "motivational" video sessions. Z and his I hate playing wing comment on live TV. Killorn saying no one knows where other players on the ice are. Boosh and his comments. There is a lot of smoke about his guy not being a good coach that there has to be some fire IMO.

PV is going to trade Zegras or Zegras will demand a trade before PV cans this buffoon. Ducks are not a legitimate franchise with this moron and staff behind the bench.

It's wild how willing Cronin is to bench Z.

Like Zegras is not some rookie. The guy has 260 NHL games played and is in his D+6 season. At some point you need to give some respect and stop trying to teach him a lesson. Can you guys imagine Carlyle benching Getzlaf for making a dumb behind the back pass in his D+6 in 2009?

Either trade Zegras, or let him play.

I’m not sure it was an intentional benching necessarily. These guys might’ve genuinely thought they had an optimal group out there. Obviously I disagree with their judgment and in some ways this was even worse because they may not know any better.

Or fire the idiot behind the bench. If it's a choice between Cronin and Zegras, I choose Z every time.
