David Bell said on CIH that Bourgault is playing hurt and probably shouldn’t even be playing at all, so that’s some context on him, although he didn’t specify when he got hurt. He said there’s definitely something there and he has a good skillset.

Also spoke highly of Leevi and said he came back with the exact same attitude as when he came up from the ECHL last year. He called his mental game elite and praised his work ethic. He joked that he’d have hair if everyone had Leevi’s attitude haha.

Halliday is learning to play against bigger and stronger guys and the curve is great, his confidence is building. Said he loves his trajectory.

There’s more but those were probably the most interesting pieces.

Belleville v Laval @ Canadian Tire Centre Ottawa tonight

Roster Notes:

Forward Cole Reinhardt was returned to Belleville on Sunday after a week up with Ottawa. You can click here for a full list of up-to-date transactions, with lineup details available via the B-Sens social channels (@bellevillesens), ahead of game time.

Who to Watch:

Belleville forward Stephen Halliday continues to lead the team in points, and despite not finding the scoresheet last weekend, the 22-year old is coming off a terrific stretch of eight points in five games prior to that. Halliday was an offensive force in the team’s first two games against Laval back in November, notching a goal and two assists.

Laval forward Rafaël Harvey-Pinard comes into the game on a season-high five game point streak, with a goal and five assists in that undefeated span for the Rocket. The 26-year old has only played three games against Belleville this year, but did score one of his five goals in the Rocket’s most recent game against Belleville, a 2-1 win on December 20th at Place Bell.

All three have been great for their teams recently. Halliday deserves a call up soon, I prefer to see him over Blackhole Highmore. Sebrango is the defensive prospect in Belleville I am intrigued by most. My next call up.

Virgin Merilainen..enough said.

13 points in last 10 games for Halliday.

Excellent news.

If he goes PPG yet again next year, gotta imagine he's full-timer by 2nd half of the season. Some very much needed depth. Has a lot to work on the defensive side of the game and skating.
