The Rangers have been covering for their shortcomings of their roster for a while now with elite special teams and even more elite goaltending. They also got WAY more out of Zibanejad than they had any right to expect. They’ve clearly quit but I think it’s also them finally getting exposed.

You hit the nail on the head.

The Ranger players' even-strength totals are similar to last year, except Kreider. The difference is they're doing zip on the PP:

'23 EVP'23 PPP'24 EVP'24 PPP
Panarin25222512
Lafreniere164192
Trocheck1712146
Zibanejad1717137
Fox7161511
Kreider181164

ESPN is so bad.

The other day, they went almost an entire college bowl game calling Fresno State the "Bulldongs" on all their graphics.

We've already desensitized ourselves. I imagine a good 3/4 of this place is going to be jumping with joy when they begin using "Aves".

F*** ESPN, I'm holding onto my VPN sub from being in Mexico to see if I can fool DTVstreaming into giving me the game tomorrow. If I can, then I'll be paying 20$ a month extra just to avoid those dongs.

I'm just waiting until AI advances to where I can have Gary Thorne and Bill Clement call evey game for me. 1990s John Buccigross and Steve Levy will be working the desk in intermissions giving updates from around the league.

I'm sure everyone has their own all-star lineup for the broadcast team though. It would be great to have hockey broadcasts evolve technologically so that at home you can flip on and off the different graphic overlays the broadcasters can use. So if you are interested in whose on the ice and how long they've been there, you can toggle it up. If you want to track speed bursts, knock yourself out. If you want to be notified when a hit exceeds X amount of force or happens above X speed you'll get a pop-up. If you want to turn off all sound but the mics around the ice...help yourself. If you want Bud Lynch, Bob Cole, Claude Mouton to call it for you...it's in the game.

I'd be willing to pay more money than my wife would like for that.

I miss the NHL apps goal and period markers fiercely, and yes please to who is on the ice and the TOI stat.
