Doesn't matter. Avs were obviously questioning their goaltending in the summer. All their goalies have done since is post the worst numbers since the early 90s Senators. And we're to believe the Avs are now confident in their guys?
Lol. Ok.
Confident, hell no. Hand cuffed is more likely. I can't imagine any trade bringing in a goalie doesn't also involve Georgiev going the other way or in a separate but immediate deal for cap implications. And our cap situation is about as clear as muddy water right now.
As much as I hate to say it, if Georgiev can avoid being the reason we lose, we should be riding him and saying he's a our number 1, while actively watching other teams and as the season progresses try to find one who maybe has a better candidate than what is currently out there.
Along those options, would there be any interest in trying to get Quick out of NYR if they continue to struggle? He's running a .971 HDSV, and a 7.51 GSAA this season and that is only a six game sample size for him and at his age, durability is a major concern. But if those numbers continue to hold, he's on an expiring 1.275M contract.
