Damage control of Miller if he is still viable next time he is a FA. What player/agent wants to admit they dont like a city/team. Maybe Vancouver too if fans start to wonder if the team could have gotten a better package. There are numerous reasons to control the narrative.

I don't think Vegas fits what the Canes would be looking for if they did move Mikko. They are in their own playoff run, so they aren't gonna move him for picks or prospects. They are gonna want roster players to replace him in lineup.

Considering the comments by EJ and the rest, the fault there lies with Duchene, not MacK. I think the only one Duchene kept in good standing with was Landy.

Bednar would love Ryan McLeod, make it a blockbuster deal and get Tuch. Nuke-McLeod-Tuch would be the biggest pain in the ass line to play against in the league.

You can't trade Mittelstadt without a 2C coming in with at least one year of term.

Acquiring Nelson would have to be done with 2026 1st + prospect, probably Ritchie since other teams can otherwise easily beat the offer with a 2025 1st and/or similar prospect.

Donato is the guy I want I think. Don't expect him to cost a bunch but I think he could really have an impact.

Something like 2025 2nd + Curran maybe.

Gives you a lot of lineup options in the Top 9 then since he can play both C and Wing.
