Saw this on Twitter and thought it was interesting. Makes the Seth Jones contract much more tolerable especially if you can just get Chicago to eat a million or two.

Drouin is playing like he shouldn’t have a new deal this summer.

Almost PPG with 23 points in 25 games despite being put on Mittelstadt's wing which is a production killer for any winger.

Primary assist on our only goal yesterday.

Continues to provide solid, two-way play with a high level of commitment to defense.

What else do you expect from him?

Things have obviously changed. He didn't think he was actually getting traded, so he held firm. Good chance he would've taken the Avs offer, had he actually known they were going to trade him. The Avs/his agent didn't communicate that well enough for him. Finnish players in the 4-nations all said that Rantanen was still kinda shocked about the trade, banging on about how he didn't want it to happen and would've prefered to stay with the Avs.
I think this is where there is a disconnect. I don't believe that the agent knew or had the info that the Avs were prepared to trade him... I think he was as surprised as Mikko was when it went down.

It's not like C-Mac told the agent that he better accept this latest offer or else they were going to trade him and then the agent just failed to communicate that to his client. I think Mikko and his agent turned it down and C-Mac said 'alright, f*** this - a player like Necas isn't going to come around again' and just pulled the trigger.

So to say the agent should be fired for me doesn't really make sense to me. He represents his client and his clients best interests - Mikko's the one who ultimately turned down the Avs - so he's only got himself to blame if he's not where he wanted to be.

Having Wood on this team is like lighting $2.5M in cap space on fire each year until 2029. Terrible player, terrible contract.
Wood is making bottom 6 wing money, which is what he is. Is he good? No. Is he a big problem? No.

Unlike Mitts and Colton who make 2C and 3C money respectively and they aren't that.

Your boy had the other. I’m not seeing what your seeing I’ll pay closer attention.

To COL: Brandt Clarke.

To LAK: Brock Boeser.

To VAN: Cal Ritchie+.

What do you think about something like this… Clarke will probably need a bridge

Wood is a 4th liner making above 4th line money for a long time. He's a problem.

LTIR might be required sooner rather than later.

Wasn’t Brad Stuart one of Sakic’s first acquisitions? He immediately went on IR didn’t he? And the Avs were saddled with that contract forever IIRC. Point is, bad contracts for term can become an issue no matter the position.
