Dude has no heart.Maybe the 2C plan is to just wait until McDavid is a UFA. Genius.

That's even better! Don't have to worry about cardiovascular fatigue if he can play without a heart!Dude has no heart.
Yeah fair point. I would too.
I, perhaps naively, am not as concerned with Val staying clean this year. Long term, maybe, but I think he has some motivation to make up for hurting the team before, by getting at least one good playoffs under his belt.
I said the same thing about Kadri after his suspension too. Hopefully I'm 2 for 2 on that read.
Convince the Flyers he'll turn Michkov into a two-way force and get them to send Tippett. It's not just about being clean with him. He's unreliable in other ways as well. Missed 36 games already this season, 28 last year, 29 the year prior, and 20 prior to that. We have to go back to 20-21 for the last time he didn't miss at least 20 games in the regular season. Then you add in all the off the ice stuff on top of that.
He's a great player, who they badly need, when he's on the ice but also one of the most unreliable players in the league. I doubt there's much (any?) value but the Avs should get out of that business ASAP if there's any taker.
Avalanche’s MacFarland deserves more love
There should probably be more discussion about the work of Colorado GM Chris MacFarland has done this season. He’s completely remodeled their crease, bringing in (and signing to a very nice deal) starter Mackenzie Blackwood, along with solid backup Scott Wedgewood. Realizing he wasn’t going to re-sign Mikko Rantanen, he moved him for Martin Necas (who’s been exceptional for the Avs), Jack Drury, picks, and cap space. He also took a flyer on someone I think has high upside in Juuso Parssinen.
All of this pulled off in-season, and Colorado is still not done.
The Jim Gregory Award will be interesting this season with MacFarland, Eric Tulsky, Bill Zito, Kevin Cheveldayoff, and others in the running.
We wouldn't have to worry about planning a Cup Parade, either. That's even better! Don't have to worry about cardiovascular fatigue if he can play without a heart!

Duh McDavid has no heart. Just like Mackinnon didn't.Ah, yes, McDavid would really drag the Avs down…
My body is ready. We will get him by the next deadline and have 3 best players in the hockey.Maybe the 2C plan is to just wait until McDavid is a UFA. Genius.

They need a 2C if they trade Mittelstadt though.
Just get Sid. Mack needs to be selling him on the move every single day for the next 2 weeks.
It will be the shifts where Sid is out there with MacK, Makar, and Toews at the same time where he'll sit back and think "I could be playing with all 3 regularly" that will get him thinking.
This tournament is almost like a test for our guys to "win over" Sid and make him pursue a trade.
I'm sure there would be some Pens fans that would be pissed, but I think the Avs fan base would double in size for the next two years.

Imagine telling Islanders Toews 5 years ago pre-trade "in half a decade Team Canada will want you to line up with Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Nathan MacKinnon, and Cale Makar."Happy for Toews, but he must be thinking he hit the hockey lottery when he eventually sees a shift with Makar, MacKinnon, Crosby, and McDavid.
