Whats the report on Cozens? Forever a winger or the next Scheifele? It wouldn't be the 1st time the Sabres botched a players development. Would be an interesting fit with us. Right handed shot, can fly and is a shoot first kind of guy.

When Mackinnon came into the league people thought he wouldn't cut it as a center. Cozens would be a guy I hope the scouts do their homework on. Untapped potential.

It could also be just like CMac and Chicago where CBJ is the cap facilitator. They have loads of cap space and might make it easier for the Avs to complete a move

I'd add for that, but I've also gotten a lot more fond of the idea of Zacha the more I've dug into it. 48 & 44 EV points the last two years. Plays in all situations.

Yeah there’s lots of possibilities with them just because of Provorov and the cap space they have.
They can send us Provorov if they have no chance of keeping him.
They can also just trade for Mitts and send us assets back that we can use for other deals.
They can be a cap space broker.

Or any combo of the 3 above.

CBJ could be a good candidate for that since the AAV would be way less than cash owed, but you can't trade Mitts unless you have another trade for a center lined up IMO.

We would still need to add a depth winger if we trade Wood unless we’re positive Lando is gonna be back at some point.

My point with Jones exactly. The AAV vs the actual cash owed each year is drastically different. Jones last three years he's only making 2.5M.

It could help them reach the floor and save a couple million in most of the next five years potentially.
