The only bad egg to come out of Buffalo is sadly Mittlestadt. It's reasonable to expect a big jump for Cozens when he leave the hockey wasteland of Buffalo.

Cozens is a dumb dumb low hockey IQ. He doesn't use his linemates well.

Does he? Wood is a non-factor, and Kadri would be an upgrade for this season. With the cap going up, who gives a f***.
Mittelstadt was playing less than a 4th line C usually does against Edmonton. This cannot continue.

New Jersey doesn't make any sense unless we're getting Mercer and forcing him to go back to playing C. And the salaries are an issue since the Devils are up against the cap currently.

If Cozens can ever figure out the NHL is not junior he'll probably be successful.

I know he isn't the fastest, but beggers can't be choosers. If the Boston interest is real, I'd be trying to figure out a way to swap Mitts and Zacha. At least with Zacha you have a guy who has real size, a reliable 20 goal scorer, kills penelties, and costs less in cap.

If you wanted to go that route, not necessarily a bad idea. More shot volume, and better defensively. I could see Zacha being better in a playoff series too.

I definitely wouldn't be against Cozens. I think he'd look great outside of the Buffalo suckhole with a decent system and coaching.

I really like the new NHL Edge stats, but they are far from complete as far as evaluating skating skills.

How about getting Chandler Stephenson from Seattle? He’s a solid 2 way center good for 50-60 points a season. On pace for 60 this year. Wonder if he’s available. He’d probably be more of 60-70 point player with the Avs.
It's interesting at least. Like anything else one number may pop, but the value is in trends or patterns overall.
I found it interesting Zacha wasn't a top speed guy, but was in the 92% for 18-20mph. His total distance skated is in the 95% range. Talk about working your ass off.
