Well, I’m not sure they can get a guy like that. They don’t have the cap room and they don’t have the assets. It’s likely going to be another gamble, and they gotta hope like hell they finally get this one right.

9:34 for Mitts tonight. Only beat Parsnip and Wood. Whatever glimmer of hope he showed recently is gone again. I don't know what the fix is, but something has to be done.

That line just isn't playing right now. Drouin (7:24) played a minute less than Mittelstadt (8:25) at 5v5, but had a crap ton of PP time (4:24) to make up for it.

Unreliable defensively and a black hole offensively. The Avs are in the same spot they were when they had Johansen.

Technically no, but unlikely any trades will happen. Teams and GMs don't want to take the spotlight from the 4-nations, they don't want to disturb players holidays, and not like it matters for your team anyway whether you make the trade at the start of the break or after it.

So deals might be discussed, even agreed upon. But highly unlikely any would be announced during the break. There will be waivers and minor league transactions possibly.

Avs have a league low 25 games left here now after the 4 Nations Cup break. And they have the 2nd easiest schedule the rest of the season with only 8 games vs teams ahead of them (DAL, VGK, TOR x2, MIN x2, and LA x2). Hopefully they make a push for some home-ice.
