Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. The entire Canes team is going through a sickness, I'll reserve judgement for now.
However, I think it's quite clear Rants' point total will drop on the Canes and Necas' will rise on the Avs, just based on usage/system/linemates.
Rants might be more of a 90-95pt guy going forward and Necas' will probably be the same. The real question is, does Rants want to be under a coach who limits his minutes like that?

It'll be an interesting thing to watch since a lot of people here believe that less icetime means the player will be better because they're not tired.

It might be true in Rants case due to his size and mobility. At least we will have some real evidence of whether he was being overplayed or just didn't have the willpower most nights. IMO we've seen a lot less motivated Rants since the Cup win.
And it might be true if you reduce a guy's minutes by 2-3/game, but IIRC his minutes have dropped by 5-6. Hard to produce as much with that steep of a drop off
Two third lines. Exactly what this team needs.

If we could get a 2C that fits Bednar's style that would go a long ways. I've convinced myself a (retained) Jones would do the team a world of good as well. Glad we are on the same page
If Boston really is interested in Mittelstadt, they have a few pieces that would be of interest to me. Zacha for a 2C replacement, Carlo for a 2RD, Marchand if they just wanted more ammo to recruit Sid with.
Honestly I could see Boston being interested in Colton as well fwiw.

Carlo definitely isn’t a fit for us. I can’t say that enough.
That would be CMac getting a player that does not fit Bednar’s style whatsoever.

Lando has been skating with the team occasionally, but also skating away from the cameras
Reason I ask if he was done I could see the Hawks taking the LTIR contract back assuming he was calling it
If he ever were to be LTIR, Avs would just keep him, so that he can be assistant GM and eventually GM.

Byfield would fit the skating fast part, don't think the Kings would look to move off of him, but that would be quite the gamble trade

If you can parlay Mitts into Byfield you add whatever is absolutely necessary to get it done
On another note, I think Dallas is our biggest competition for Jones, which would drive up the price. They have the need, better prospect trade chips and can always include some salary going out
