Agree whole-heartedly. And the fact that Bednar appears to want a physical specimen next to Malinski. I'm hoping he's not limited to this by CMac getting Jones and pushing Malinski off the roster when Manson moves down. But then...who do play next to Manson on the third pair becomes the question. I'm leaning towards CDH, but I'm willing to listen to arguments from those who would prefer Kylington.Middleton was behind Malinski, CDH, Kylington, Ludvig and Brännström in depth at start of the season. He has played surprisingly well. It's sad to see people wanting to get rid of him when he's just an AHL guy who stepped up when needed. Just send him down when we have better guys in front.
I agree with your thoughts on the roster, it's one thing to call a spade a spade and acknowledge what it is. It's another to harp on it continously when there are tools that can be used. It's ok to call a spade a spade. He's clearly an AHL player who might be fine in a call-up role should injuries hit for a game or two but nothing more than that.
His decision making, awareness, and lack of puck skill are glaring weaknesses.
I look at at him like a tool. If you want a little more meat, you use him. You want a little more crazy puck movements you take CDH. If we want to blame anyone for their play, it should be the players eating up the cap that prevents us from having anything nicer here.
