Drink the night before, spend the day on hangover. Not gone to wasteThe usual sick day I take for trade deadline day is going to be a waste, isn’t it
He can play both but IMO has always been at his best down the middle. Is Granlund a LW or a center?
He's a winger. On a weaker team, he can play center, or be a bottom-6C. But if you want him in the top-6, he's a winger. Is Granlund a LW or a center?
I don't think anyone should be upset at this deal, in fact I think we should be happy.
Mikael Granlund, as good as he's been in San Jose, has been producing because he's been thrust back into offensive situations like he was in Minnesota. When he was playing with Nashville outside of one season he looked brutal, and his brief stint on Pittsburgh's 3rd line he looked brutal. If Dallas expects to play him on the 3rd line, they may not be getting great results.
Cody Ceci is who he is. One of the worst defensemen this league has seen in the last 25 years and somehow continues to find roles on teams - prominent roles, too.
I'm happy as an Avs fan today.
Funny, I've always thought of it the other way around. He's better at wing.He can play both but IMO has always been at his best down the middle.
Imagine both Cody Ceci AND Matt Dumba playing on the same team at the same time occupying ~40 minutes of a hockey game.Granlund is going to do well in Dallas, unfortunately
Ceci though, lol. I hope they give him a lot of Miro's minutes
The only was I think we find an upgrade on Mitts is if 87 decides to move. And that is such a small chance.Yeah, Granlund doesn't scare anyone, and Cici is just hilarious.
I guess if that's what's on the table right now we know why they haven't pulled the trigger on anything else.
I want a three team flip Colton for Crouse, and fire the rest of the bullets for Jones.
I don't think we're upgrading on Mitts in season.
There's still the Kraken. At the very worst, Yanni Gourde is a great target to add more C depth. Or you could go for something bigger/long term with Stephenson and something else. His new deal doesn't look so bad with a rising capYeah, I was thinking the same. Now that Miller is off the board, Granlund coming off, Vancouver, Calgary and NYI trying to get in.
I'm not seeing the obvious avenue for fixing the 2C. We're not likely to win the rental war for Nelson.
Not that there were great options to begin with, but I still really want Jones. Improving the D in a meaningful way is probably our biggest need.

Ceci is the guy who was done when he played for Ottawa, isn't he?
Same. Still such a fun day though. I'll usually order a pizza or let myself be influenced by TSN's ads and go get Harvey's and enjoy the non-sense, no matter how fun or shitty it is.The usual sick day I take for trade deadline day is going to be a waste, isn’t it

If the Avs have a big-ish move left, I hope they do it before the 4 Nations. It makes total sense. Gives the new player(s) a couple of weeks to settle in, move, find a place to stay, start watching video of your new team. Tons of prep work that you normally wouldn’t be able to get in an in-season trade.
For sure I agree. The issue is there are very few sellers right now.
Look at how shit the East is where almost every team other than Buffalo and maybe Pittsburgh have a chance at the playoffs.
Right now, it’s a seller’s market with very few teams selling and lots looking to buy.
The hope is that by the TDL, more teams have dropped out and are willing to sell.
We should upgrade on Mitts. We need a center and 2 d-men and I think we’ll be goodYeah, Granlund doesn't scare anyone, and Cici is just hilarious.
