Clearly the Avs should just start interviewing players by asking them "how fast you skate" and if the answer isn't "yes" then we can move along to the next person.

Not sure Avs can get that #2 guy... maybe that #4 guy for Nuke? Philly loves russians, need to appease Mitchkov.

To be fair, I think Jim Benning did sooooooo much damage, Rutherford and Allvin deserve credit for cleaning some of it up but honestly I think it went totally off the rails when they hired Tocchet. He’s a bad coach they wasted prime years of their best ever forward and best ever defenseman (possibly best PLAYER period) with this mess.

Doesn’t help the most talented goalie they’ve ever had probably won’t ever recover from whatever injury he’s got.
Luongo ?

They got a 3rd line center and a protected 1st for a guy that averaged 90 points the last few seasons
Sounds like HF dream-trade. That 3rd line center brings depth and the pick might actually average 100 points seasons in the future. Imagine the options with the freed cap as well 😄

If you could get Zegras in a deal structured around Ritchie and picks, ditch Wood or Colton in the process, I’d be down

I dunno I don't see much of a player in Ritchie myself. Zegras has potential the other guys are overpaid for what they bring.
I’m not a big Ritchie lover either. But he’s by far our most valuable young trade chip. Wasting that on a player as bad, soft and care free as Zegras would be reminiscent of Bergevin trading Sergachev for Drouin.

Zegras and his energy he puts into everything else but hockey made Getzlaf hate going to the rink in Anaheim. That says a lot. He might mature at some point but good god what a waste of talent he is right now.

I might sound like a hardo but I’m just done with these loser mentality type guys.

People suggesting trading Nuke is mind boggling. He is needed more than ever and he makes pennies relative to what he’s worth.

Here's the thing with Nuke, if he f***s up again, we lose an incredible winger that fits the system like a glove for nothing, since they will terminate the contract

I personally hope that he gets clean. I love a good redemption arc, and as a player I really like him. So him proving to everyone including himself, that he's capable of overcoming addiction, would restore the trust his teammates had in him during the Cup run

Like Drouin though, we just have to accept that he's most likely not going to have a healthy season, which is why the depth from trading Mikko is so important

This tweet right here:

Told us everything we need to know about how that dressing room was split. This was Petey’s second game back after his non-injury related hiatus a few weeks ago. It’s so strange. Like when you purposely over exaggerate your praise for your little brother or special little friend who is playing with the older kids. The leadership group sided with Petey. The guys who want to win didn’t.

LOL. Guy takes like 3 weeks off without being hurt and this is what his teammates are saying after one decent period even though he hasn’t given a decisive effort this season prior to that

It'll be interesting to see who else was on Miller's side of the rift with upcoming trades, you'd have to assume one of Heinen or Desharnais was, maybe both

No, I don't think we should assume that at all. They were 2 upcoming cap dumps to make the money work.

Boeser is Miller's best buddy so there's him for sure.

Sounds to me like he had many friends in the locker room and was hoping that EP would get traded.

This wasn't a Georgiev situation.
