The dressing room was divided in two. Two distinct camps.

I understand Miller and Boeser were very close friends. Any hope the Canucks had of extending Boeser probably evaporated with the trade tonight. I think Garland and a few others were also Team Miller.

Then you’ve got the EP crowd led by Hughes and others.

This won’t resolve itself overnight.

I'm thinking it'll be resolved by the TDL. Boeser was always likely getting dealt anyways, no way did I see him re-signing.

Garland should just shut up and play hockey lol guy isn't good enough to have a say in any of this.

I'm not talking about the daily GDT's but on the long run the fanbase is always right for this stuff.

I have many examples over the years that you should trust a fanbase to evaluate a player correctly.

To name a few:

Kerfoot to Toronto. Most Avs fans couldn't be happier when we learned that he was gone. Leafs fans thought they were getting a Selke caliber center because of advanced stats. Fast forward a year and they were thinking exactly like us and were trying to unload his ass in every possible trade proposal.

Newhook to Montreal: They thought they were getting a lightning fast top 6 center and were laughing at us for telling them how he was. Fast forward a year and now if you ask them about Newhook they all call him useless and want him gone ASAP.

Georgiev to Colorado: How many of us mocked Rags fans for "warning us" about Georgiev?

An oldie: Stuart to Colorado: There was a HF party like I've never seen before or since on the Sharks board because of the addition by substraction of losing Brad Stuart. Avs fans didn't believe them...until...

We can solve that for them. We’re in Vancouver Tuesday so how about an old fashioned locker room switch before the game and the whole Nucks team becomes team Mittelstadt

Seriously. What was built didn't work. Why only try to repair one wing of the house when the entire foundation is rotten.

Sucks for Vancouver fans, but they got their #1D and then ruined the #1C they had trying to exit their rebuild (if you could call it that) early by bringing in JTM. I'm not sure exactly where I think they went off the rails, but it was probably with the way they handled Horvat.

To be fair, I think Jim Benning did sooooooo much damage, Rutherford and Allvin deserve credit for cleaning some of it up but honestly I think it went totally off the rails when they hired Tocchet. He’s a bad coach they wasted prime years of their best ever forward and best ever defenseman (possibly best PLAYER period) with this mess.

Doesn’t help the most talented goalie they’ve ever had probably won’t ever recover from whatever injury he’s got.

It sounded like that when Rutherford spoke the other day, that's why he said that trading one of them won't solve the issue and he may have to trade both.

I honestly believe that too many people here just assumed, possibly incorrectly, that Miller was a bully and EP was a poor victim. We just don't know what happened.

His 21 minutes a night for Anaheim probably isn't the best, but if we got him, he's probably playing 13-16. Do you go for someone that pushes Girard down or someone that pushes Manson down? Unless we go for someone that has a bit more term.

Oh, I completely admit I could be reading him wrong. I'm just a random internet dude that likes to watch hockey and only started playing in late life.

Our pro-scouts have more or less done a good a job on people we want to aquire at the deadline (I think the summer moves may be more driven by CMac's desire for a cheap fix, rather than sound moves sometimes.)

Meh, guy was reportedly highly disliked his first go-round in NYR, then feuded with Bo Horvat until that trade materialized, now feuded with Petersson until Miller himself got shipped out of town.
