Im pretty disappointed we didnt get jtm. Idiot or not, was the most realistic difference maker for us. Doubt ep40 is traded now and even if he is, we prob dont have best package. Dont see chicago retaining much on jones for that many years

I think the likelihood of Crosby convincing Mack to go to Pittsburgh to play meaningful games is the likelier outcome

In the past, he would have in my books. Right now.. he doesn't pass as an NHL player.

If we can get him to disengage cerebrally from his cecum, we actually have a damn good 2C. I just don't know what it's going to take to get his head out of his ass.

They want a guarantee of production for the POs since we’ve already wasted two opportunities in our contention window. It’s galling because Mitts previously did well in the POs. So you know he has the talent and ability. Seems like a question of motivation or enthusiasm. When the good times are rolling along, it’s easy and you don’t press. Now, he’s just off.

Nelson? I suspect the cost will be too high given competition for his services.
Crosby? Pipe dream. Crosby already has his rings and Pittsburgh is where he wants to stay.
Marchand? Smacks of desperation. I don’t really see what he would bring except PO experience.
Petey? Makes the team top heavy though the Avs probably could handle that contract given the rising cap. I doubt the Canucks want to trade him to a WC team.
Miller? It’s a question of how CMac views him in terms of his likelihood to cause dissension on the team. Remember, CMac already had to deal with the consequences of RyJo’s and Georgiev’s negative effect on the team. He was basically forced to take action. But there is no question he’ll solidify the 2nd line at least for this PO run.
Stephenson? Unlikely but can’t be ruled out.
It would be interesting to see Zegras paired with Mitts but I just can’t CMac trying that.

JB should try Necas at 2C. Yeah, I know what Canes fans said about him as a 2C but Avs should make their own assessment. I’m fine with him at wing but should still see what the player can do, especially in a pinch.

My problem with Petey is he shut down. I'm not sold on paying market value for a guy that is playing like a complete shell of his former self. I mean, if they want to flip Petey for Nuke straight up with nothing else involved, I would be tempted. Outside of that, I have no idea why people are jumping all overthemselves to pay an extrodinary price for damaged goods.

JTM is in the same boat. He's damaged goods. Listen to me very closely here. You DO NOT ELECT TO HAVE CANCER!! Trust me on this. Five years of chemo and I haven't had a solid shit in over 4 years. I want NOTHING to do with JTM.

I'll gladly eat crow if either ever amount to more than a complimentary player moving forward, but until either one does something of signifiance all I see is seriously questionable goods and a bunch of fans that would get themselves fired as a GM drooling over the prospect of what these guys used to be and thinking they could add that without bringing along any baggage.
