Rumor: 2024-2025 Trade Rumors and Free Agency Talk | Part Deux

Dhaliwal is the most connected insider to the Canucks supposedly.... So there's certainly some smoke to this.

Miller would be fascinating. Mostly because of the stark difference in opinions people on here have on him(And Pettersson for that matter).

Personally I like Miller a lot more for us. A more reasonable cap hit that allows us to continue rebuilding depth around the edges. And I like the competitive spirt and also think our locker room would be much better at keeping Miller under control, allow him to be as competitive as he wants to be but without crossing the line. I'd trust Landy and Makar to do a much better job with this then freaking little boy Hughes in Vancouver.

And I dont think Mack/Miller would clash at all because I think Miller would quickly see how competitive Mack is and how he wants to win just as badly and would basically just want to replicate that energy.

But, we'll see if anything actually happens.

I kinds agree on Miller, but if the Cup chops don't quiet him at least somewhat or if he's going after our young guys it could be death.

A slightly more quiet, but highly motivated Miller could be awesome though.

Imagine Miller seeing Mitts in the weight room.

Even Miller can't be that egoistic to think he could say something over Makar and MacK. These guys are on a different level.

So Mitts would be good fit with Pete. Not so competitive. Miller can join MacK and make this the most competitive crazy carnival.

Miller would be such a huge upgrade over Mitts for only 2.25M more (AAV). He'd instantly change our top 6.

My only issue with him is his age.

Can't imagine Vancouver trades both JTM and Pettersson.
Their president already said it was a possibility and trading only one guy may not fix their room.

If you read between the lines their locker room is divided into two factions. Trading the leader of one faction may not help if the other group is still against him.

That's how bad their locker room situation is.

I don’t even have a real problem with his age, or contract or attitude.

My biggest worry is if he’s declining or doesn’t work here, you have a locker room problem for 8M with a full NMC.
Basically tanks the window if he sucks

I hope we stay away from Miller.

I'm really starting to think Stephenson could be a dark horse, although I don't like that contract. Maybe he comes with Bjorkstrand with Mitts going out, but still wouldn't leave much (if any) room for D unless Colton and/or Wood are headed elsewhere.

At least Chandler is a known commodity, Playoff numbers aren't great outside of one run though.

How is Stephenson really any different than Mitts. I think he’s a 50-60 point center. I think we all agree we need an improvement. Stephenson feels more of a re-arranging the chairs

Then why isn't Lehhky doing it? He is kinda in and out, and tips pucks, but he doesn't plant his ass in the goalies face like Wood does. Like Nuke and Landeskog do.

The other day Boston just man handled Lehhky on the power play and didn't let him shoot the puck.

Yeah there are some smaller guys that are good at it. Parise was too in his prime.
Well, frankly, Lehky is the closest thing to that they have. He certainly has the determination to take punishment in the net front area, but being able to get to rebounds and gain enough leverage to get off a shot consistently is a little outside his skill set.
