I think for sure Wood will be gone and I think it’s likely Colton will be gone, and so long as the number is under 5, Drouin will be back, he just has fit this team too much to let go.
Landeskog after not playing in 2 years won't be in a top 6 role.Once Nuke returns, this is my preferred set of lines:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Nichuskin
Lehkonen - Mittlestadt - Necas
Colton - Parssinen - LOC
Wood - Drury - Kivi
Kelly
Let's say Landeskog returns for the playoffs, which I think is the plan right now. Someone smarter than me will have to determine if we have enough space to activate Landeskog at the deadline, but I doubt it. Obviously CMac isn't done making moves and will need to use the majority of that for breathing room.
With Landeskog:
Drouin - MacKinnon - Nichuskin
Landeskog - Mitts - Necas
Colton - Parssinen - Lehkonen
Wood - Drury - LOC
Kelly, Kivi
Notes:
- I put players in what I feel is their most natural position. Maybe swap Landeskog and Colton because Landy won't be handling top 6 minutes
- That's the CMac is talking about, all 4 of those lines are reliable.
- Obvious moves would be to improve on Parssinen or Mitts. Parssinen is the most 'out of place' in the lineup IMO. With Drury, maybe they aren't so committed to Parssinen and look to flip him for a legit 3C. With losing Rants though, i like his size in the lineup. Also with moving Rants, I would say we need to improve on Mitts and get a LH shooter for the PP (or just put Toews there)
- Other obvious needs are an improvement on the bottom pair, or on the 2nd pair to send Manson down, and that's our team
Imagine it was Mikko lmaoWe'll never know who the Hawks were scouting.
That's a moronic take by a guy who simply doesn't get it. (not surprised, he's kind of a schmuck)
Imagine "Chicago doesn't want to jam up their cap table with that long of a period of time with salary retention..."
Apart from Bedard at forward and Vlasic on the backend, who and where are the pieces that are going to make this matter 5 years down the road to the point where 'oh no, that $2.6M to $3M we're retaining on Jones is really hampering us from winning the Stanley Cup?' I don't think those pieces are drafted yet or they are still extremely young guys like Korchinski & Leshunov who still need those years to develop.
They are AT LEAST 5 years away unless they are wanting to NYR this thing and build through free agency - which has never worked for anyone.
The bottom line is - whatever the retention number ends up being on Jones, it's extremely unlikely to hinder the blackhawks in the next 5 years.
They started 2 years ago.Isn't the belief that if a rebuild goes well it takes about 5 years? Should be coming off just about the right time.
They started 2 years ago.
I don't get Bender's comment. If Davidson doesn't believe that his team will be competitive within the next 5 years he should be fired.
The Blackhawks are so far away from being done rebuilding because they half-assed it when they dumped guys like Saad, Keith and Seabrook only to acquire players like Jones and Fleury
Then they went full Operation Cinder after the whole Beach thing came out and got rid of their most promising youngsters like Debrincat, Hagel and Dach, severely slowing them down
So yeah, they're a ways off for sure, if they ever even make it there.

There's a difference between 'being competitive' and 'being a Cup contender' where every dollar matters. They started 2 years ago.

Seravalli said Hawks weren’t in Denver to scout the Avs, they were there to scout their prospect playing in DU, and just went to Avs games since they were there. He said Avs aren’t in on Jones. I know Seravalli isn’t the most reliable reporter out there, but that’s what he’s saying

YesCan someone explain to me if landy is eligible for the playoffs if he doesn’t play a regular season game.
6 games including two Eagles games… just because they were in the area.
Sure, Frank, sure.
Sounds like damage control leak to Frank because a deal probably fell apart.
Yeah, and KK was coming to the Avs.
Cmac reads Hf and takes our advice or Necas and Mitts aren't here. I'm sure of it. Yes that means the Mitts trade is our fault. Good job guys.
Yeah, Seravalli often spits nonsense so I wouldn’t take what he said to heartAidan Thompson? They wanted to see him in person for a few games?

Damn that's kind of deflating info. Hopefully Cmac makes some more moves before the TDLSeravalli said Hawks weren’t in Denver to scout the Avs, they were there to scout their prospect playing in DU, and just went to Avs games since they were there.
