Natural stat trick would be a good betAnyone know an easy way to figure that out? I'm guessing there's some advanced stats website out there that has this kind of thing?

Natural Stat Trick > Players > Individual > select player > TeammatesAnyone know an easy way to figure that out? I'm guessing there's some advanced stats website out there that has this kind of thing?
Mack has been complete ass this season trying to drive the play. If players like Makar, Mikko or whoever doesnt pass him to a breakaway to score he just usually skates with the puck on the left side until stopped by a defender, turns back and tries to pass trough 2-3 guys sideways and its usually intercepted. I havent seen a glimpsee of last years Mack who skated through the defenders to score. Mack also havent been doing much of pressure on the walls unless he gets angry for losing the puck or whatever. When you watch a game and see both Rantanen and MacKinnon, do you see a difference ?
If not, I'm just going to start to assume that you ARE Mikko Rantanen.
So maybe we should indeed play Kiviranta and LOC with MacKinnon then, spread the wealth.
Sure, I agree. But Bednar doesn’t want to seem to lessen his linemates.Ok cool, lets put Nate with them and then see how Mikko does with Drouin and Lehky then. I mean Mack is the highest paid player on the team, he should be able to handle that responsibility no?
One more rantish thing here: the word depth needs to be shot to the f***ing moon (preferably to Mimas or some other moon of Saturn, so further than Moon). Everyone always talks about how "you need depth to win!".
No. You need guys who are performing to AND overperforming to their current contracts. And getting rid of Mikko doesn't provide a solution to our underperforming players (RossCo, Landeskog, Nichushkin, Mittelstadt).
That’s all true. But the players also need to be hungry to win the SC. They need that same burning desire that drove all of those players on the SC team. It’s hard to develop that, much less any consistency, when you have so many injuries at the same time.HF has a tendency to overemphasize things like depth, but good depth is still important. I agree with your point that you need guys performing to and overperforming their contract, but that's a sliding scale.
If you have a bottom six with a bunch Foudy's or Ben Meyers overperforming their contract, you're still only going to get so much from that player, and you're probably not going to win a Cup with depth like that.
But if you have a bottom six with Cogliano's and Helm's over performing their contracts on the 4th line, it raises the bar for what you can get out of your depth, and if you hit on the other areas of need, you have a good shot at the Cup.
Same with the D core. If you have guys like CDH or Middleton, you can only get so much. But if you have guys like Girard or Byram playing to their contract with an over performing Jack Johnson on the bottom pair, it's much different.
If you can only spend league min, you almost have to rely on getting lucky finding guys like Cogs, Helm, and JJ. If you can spend a bit more, it gives you better odds at finding a better player. You might also get the same level of play by the player playing to expectations, rather than relying on the league min guys exceeding expectations.
You don't just need depth, you need quality depth. Plus limited or no major injuries. Plus good goaltending. Plus your stars outperforming the other team's stars. Plus good special teams. Plus some luck. You need all of that to win and good depth is a part of the puzzle.
I think they should be trying to do everything they can to re-sign Mikko, but if they can't, then using his salary to spend more on the bottom six and bottom pair, would in theory help them improve the quality to their depth, if they identify the right players.
On one hand I hope it's Mitts, on the other hand I hope it's not him since he's been playing like shit in the last 2 games
But you don't send the GM twice to watch a 4th liner making league minimum. It's not like Ivan has significant value on the market.2 straight games for the GM.
6th straight game for the Hawks scouting us overall.
Also scouted both Eagles games that Ivan was sent down for.

To me only 2 players make sense: Colton and Mitts. Two guys that could help them now and have the kind of contract that the Hawks are looking for: high AAV short term.
However, Colton isn't waiving his NMC to go to Chicago (unless he asked for a trade).
That leaves Mitts.
Well, there is Rantanen too...But you don't send the GM twice to watch a 4th liner making league minimum. It's not like Ivan has significant value on the market.

Yeah, but the way I look at it, keeping him is guaranteed death. Moving him and trying to rebuild while Nate and Cale are still actively in their prime? Well, it's never been done before. This is the issue that's always been there with Mikko. You can't let him walk or trade him and expect to replace his impact, and you also can't sign him because it kills our depth and Bednar will just ride the top line into the ground every year like he keeps doing
Rock and a hard place
