Rumor: 2024-2025 Trade Rumors and Free Agency Talk | Part Deux

I'd give Drouin the LOC treatment - 6 x 3.5M

Yeah that's what I'd do as well.

I mean look, Drouin clearly wants to be here more than anything else. The money also doesn't seem to be as big of a deal. He did the Avs a real solid last summer by only taking the 1x$2.5M when I believe it was reported he had offers for more term and more money(I think $4M was mentioned at least once).

So I think if you give him good term he'll be happy to take less and stay here with Mack and playing on a team where he's truly completely reinvented his game.

I stand by my prediction that if they bring it JTM they'll win back to back Cups, but everyone will hate each other so much that we will see a mass exodus once Cale is a UFA
I would rather live through your prediction than my own.

That being said, I would probably feel a bit different about JTM if Landeskog was healthy and in the locker-room and on the ice and with the team at all times. I know he won't put up with bullshit. I really can't see either MacKinnon or Makar saying shit to JTM if he started poking on Mitts unprofesionally. And while some here will be like, that's exactly what needs to happen. He'll soon turn his eye to Drouin, Nuke, Girard/Manson and absolutely no end to his disdain for whoever happens to be our third pair at the time. And while as fans, we might all feel these frustrations...a dude going off in the locker-room and on the ice at his teammates, especially when we are thin as we are, is not going to help with team harmony and cohesiveness. I want these guys ready to fight FOR each other, not AGAINST each other.

I’m honestly a bit surprised it hasn’t happened yet.

Yep, Chicago and Columbus both offered him $4m. I think there was a third team, maybe Anaheim or the Islanders, but I know the first two for sure. He didn’t want to hear it.

Would Mittelstadt pass as a "strong passing defensive center"?

Zegras - Mittelstadt - Lehkonen/Nichushkin
In the past, he would have in my books. Right now.. he doesn't pass as an NHL player.

If we can get him to disengage cerebrally from his cecum, we actually have a damn good 2C. I just don't know what it's going to take to get his head out of his ass.

17.5m AAV for these two players.

Both have full NTCs as well, although for different reasons I think they’d waive for Colorado.

Miller wants out of Vancouver, wants a contender and/or good situation.

Jones is born in Denver and his daddy is AGM of the Nuggets. Family is all here.

I hope AJ at the theatre watching Twilight becomes the new Dater in an elevator.

How did we end up with such a god awful cast of “insiders.”

Problem with trading for Miller is they likely have to wait til these 5 games are played.
Can’t trade for a canadian team based player. It’s likely Mitts is the player going back so a trade now would just remove Mitts from the roster and it would take a week+ before JTM is on the roster

Why?

I think it's obvious that it's one of the other, not both.

I guess it’s because of the visa issues and our history of taking 7-10 days for a player coming from a Canadian team to have their paperwork sorted.

We also play in Vancouver in 4 days.
JT Miller is an American, why would he have visa trouble lol

Why do you quote this guy? Do you really believe he or anyone from DNVR have a connection to anyone in the NHL? Dude left Denver to get even more remote.

I simply don't believe you can be a reporter of a team if you are not physically going to practices, asking real questions at every media scrum, getting interviews with players and others in the org, and in general acting in a professional manner.

You all know I love Portz. But look at how he went about getting into and continuing his career covering hockey. Hell, look at George Richards. Look at the guys that left reporting the Avs for the Athletic... Clark and Baugh. Remember Rick Sadowski?

What's the big difference between these folks and most everyone at DNVR? Sobriety? Professionalism? Willing to show up and cover every practice, travel and get interviews and stories?

Still trying to understand the DNVR model. Hey we own a bar, come and listen to us drink and rant hockey.
