I mean I totally agree. He's been brutal. Even the two games that bookended his goal game, he was absolutely terrible. That's why he ended up with 13 minutes the game after he finally scored a goal.
I wrote down timestamps of all his terrible unforced turnovers and lost physical battles to point them out, but it got to the point where if I put a video out there highlighting them, it might actually impact his value, so I decided against it.
I think what's best for both Mitts and the team is to find a trade to somewhere he's a better fit, because the problem is he won't change his game. He keeps trying to play like Peter Forsberg, with 1/4 of the strength, and on a team with higher skating demands than anybody else in the league. He can be better, around a 60 point guy, maybe more in a good year, but it doesn't feel like it will be in Denver.
But if they can't find a deal in this sellers market for 2C's, then I still think they can win, if Casey just gets a little better, and guys like Val, Lehky, Necas, etc stay health ish and make up for his faults, and they trade for a damn defenseman.
