Of course.

I was a big Riku Hahl fan and was convinced he was going to have a solid career. I always found him to be a damn good hockey player.
Oh I remember Shantz, the way I remember a specific nightmare from my childhood. It's kind blurry and not really clear but there is a very definate feeling of revulsion.

As for Riku... I really liked him too. Any idea what exactly happened to cause him to not turn out?

My guess is there is zero engagement on the issue until it becomes an issue.

Remember what was also said along with some of those insinuations. Cocain use is common place in the sport.

They definitely numbed him up to play through injuries. That also seems common place, especially in the playoffs.
It really should be that way from an employment law perspective. First, that’s possible defamation unless you have cause to make the direct accusation. I suppose you could indirectly ask if there’s any reason that your judgment or play might be impaired? That’s different than asking if he snorting lines off a mirror. If you harmed his reputation without cause then you’re also opening yourself to being sued if he’s unable to gain another contract. Who wants that out in public much less the expense of defending a lawsuit. I grant this scenario is the parade of horribles but you get my drift. There’s a risk to asking. I would have preemptively included a good conduct clause in his contract that would state the use of illicit substances would be grounds for discipline up to and including termination of the contract for cause. Then again, I never negotiated or drafted an NHL player contract so WTH do I know? But we shouldn’t assume the management was being negligent.

That's also how I remember Shantz.

Yeah I miss Riku Hahl.

Him and Jonas Holos - the ones that got away

Again, he had done nothing up until 2023. For all we know, he was fine. Now, people obviously hear things but Nichushkin had done his part to not f*** up until 2023. The Avs had no reason to believe it would spiral downhill this fast during the summer of 2022.
He had done nothing known to the public... But the Avs literally don't let anything ever come to public. I mean he may not have had a problem that they thought would lead to issues involving the law and PAP, but the Avs took a calculated risk with him. Now I don't think the issues were as bad as they are now with Nuke... But there's no chance they didn't know what Nuke was up to in his free time.

Ok, Had to look it up. Avs didn't play that day, but the next, and this is likely the correct answer.

Yesss! Suck it @RoyIsALegend! Casual Avs fan. :sarcasm:
