2024-2025 Trade Rumors and Free Agency Talk | Part Deux

Based on how MacFarland spoke, it seems like they’re sticking with Mittelstadt.

Yeah I was going to mention this as well.

Unless CMac is being coy with this answer, it doesn't sound like Mitts is being traded at the deadline, based on his comments after being asked about Casey and Lindgren's friendship.

The question came from Rachel too, who works for the Avs.

"Casey we all saw what he did last year at the end of the year and into a tough playoff series against Winnipeg and then Dallas and then the start of this year was really good hockey. So we definitely need to see that version of Casey and I'm confident that we will. Those Minnesota guys stick together obviously. I think bringing Ryan in, if that is a spark for Casey, or him, all the better for the Avalanche."

Yeah sure but I wouldn't put much stock into that answer one way or another.

He's not going to answer 'yeah we know they are best friends but we've decided to trade Casey so I guess they won't be together very long'...

I'm confident the Avs will try to get an upgrade on Mittelstadt if they can swing it and if not, they'll hang onto him but that's less than ideal. That involves rolling the dice and hoping he can get back to being the confident player he was at the start of the season.

Pretty big gamble.

If Mittelstadt ends up staying his ass better be living at Mackinnon Manor in the offseason training and eating the way Nathan does.
It's surprising that Mitts actually hits some decent skating speeds, he needs to work so much on his endurance so that he can skate the way the Avs want him to, but that he's then still got energy to play the way that makes him successful
