London Erie can't finish 1&2 as they are in the same division
doing it by who i think the best teams are 1-8 regardless of divisions tbh
London Erie can't finish 1&2 as they are in the same division
As I said in my prediction I just don't see where they'll get consistent goals in big games down the stretch.Got to say I'm surprised by the lack of people picking Flint for the west division.
Also brought in pieniniemi, Battaglia will be much improved- prob puts up 90 points, burns will put more points up too and Hopkins is looking to breakout. Also have a crap ton of picks to use and potentially weir and velliaris/williamson for trade chips.5- Kingston
I can never understand the moves they make. Added final year guys in LaLonde, Uronen and Guindon so I guess they're going for it this year? They're not close to those top 4 teams right now in my opinion though.
they have less picks available to them than Brantford and Brampton do and I think their roster is far behind those 2 currently. And if the Barlow to Oshawa deal does happen, Oshawa would have 4 NHL 1st rounders and the reigning goalie of the year. Who does KGN go get to be better than that? Also brought in pieniniemi, Battaglia will be much improved- prob puts up 90 points, burns will put more points up too and Hopkins is looking to breakout. I dont agree with the moves being made however it makes sense because of how old the team is- losing half of them next year.
Just hope next year they sell off hard if they’re going hard this year
Don’t get me wrong- I don’t think they’ll be a top 4 team in the conference. However they’re definitely still going to add. Will be pretty disappointing for them to add a bunch only to go out round 1, maybe if they’re real lucky round 2.they have less picks available to them than Brantford and Brampton do and I think their roster is far behind those 2 currently. Battaglia should get a 16 year old and some high picks. Bound for atleast 80 points this year but I’m gonna guess 90 even. Next year should have a higher ppg and get a look at the wjc team.Who would they sell off hard next year? Battaglia would be their only non-OA trade chip and he's good but he's not a superstar

Soto, Miedema (assuming he doesn’t get signed), McNamara will all get some good pick packages and then they should be restocked and rebuild around their 3 ‘09 first round picks.
If they really wanna go crazy. Hopkins will be 18 they can sell him off too but id rather they do that the following year for only picks then push again in 2026/27
I don't think they're looking to move either of these guys this year, especially Parekh. Parekh is not making the NHL next year. They can move him later. They also have other people they can move next year and in the year after to recoup assets. Basically there's a way to build back up that doesn't have to include selling off this season. I mentioned before, but it would take an absolutely horrendous season for them to do a hard sell.I wouldn’t bank on anything more than picks for Battaglia.
Saginaw will be looking to move Misa and Parekh. Other teams that are in “go now” mode will also be looking to move players. Oshawa could decide to move Senneke and/or Danford depending on their strategy next year. Brampton could look to move Martone (although less likely). Barrie is sitting there with Akey and Beaudoin.
We really don’t have a strong sense of what the market looks like yet. But, if we have four teams in the Eastern conference that are all poised to be big buyers this year then you have to think there will be big sellers next year. We do know Saginaw needs to recoup draft picks. They basically have none the next three years.
Two of Barrie, Brampton, Kingston, and Oshawa will be out in round two, possibly sooner if Brantford and Sudbury load up.Don’t get me wrong- I don’t think they’ll be a top 4 team in the conference. Soto, Miedema and McNamara will all be OAs so I don't think the return for them would be that overwhelming. I'm not as high on Battaglia as others so maybe he proves me wrong, but I don't have him as a guy who gets a 16 year old 1st rounder in return for. To me those are WJC players and he's not in that group. But I could be wrrong, he could have a huge year and be in that convoDon’t get me wrong- I don’t think they’ll be a top 4 team in the conference. However they’re definitely still going to add. I can’t see Brantford loading up BUT I could see them add one or two 18 year olds and pay a little more this year than next year when they are 19. If they can ge their hands on a player like Mews this year, I think that would go a long way to helping them. To me, those are the types of deals we may see them make. It would make things much more interesting. Imagine if they could pry Misa away form Saginaw? OR even Parekh for that matter? Doubtful this year but you get what I am saying.

I don’t think any of those 3 get a Logan Morrison (or soon to be Dalyn wakely) return lol but will get atleast a few picks each to help replenish the stockSoto, Miedema and McNamara will all be OAs so I don't think the return for them would be that overwhelming. Agree with that likely being the direction Brantford takes; but with additions of the import and an ‘06 D or two, Brantford could take-out Brampton in 3-6 matchup or Kingston in a 4-5 series. No team looks safe in round two in that conference.
Donovan McCoy got a first rounder last year.
You don’t think a 19 year old who can put up 100 points next year won’t?
I think he continues his progression being the main guy this year unless fronts get wakely(then he may even hit 100 this year cause I’m sure wakely is bound for that) then the following season may not put up as many because he will be away at wjc camp I’m sure- and may make the team. But his ppg total I’m sure increases a bit too. Very high on him he reminds me of Robertson in many aspects of his game.
He got 65 points last year and 31 goals. Will elevate his points total and goals I assume the baseline would be a 40/40 season for him. Think +15 points is very reasonable for him but I think a +25 can even happen with his improved skating and nhl shot, great hands. He isn’t the best 2 way player but he can definitely put the puck in the back of the net.
There seem to be more and more rumblings of Ritchie sticking in Colorado and not being back at all. I don't think it would be a death blow to Oshawa's chances but with them already being behind the others in terms of picks to add players, it adds to the chances of them not being the best regular season team.3- Oshawa
I think they're better than Brantford but Brantford has more picks and will have all their guys to start the season whereas the Gens won't have Ritchie, Danford, Sennecke or Roobroeck to start the season. That's a huge hole that could see them fall behind early and not be able to catch up in the standings.

They still have so many other strong players and goaltending to be a favourite against most teams in the playoffs.
Martone may not get moved. Could be pretty good both years. Same with Spence.Like this year, there will be potentially be quite a few elite players available. I’m not too sure Battaglia will qualify as one of those guys. We do know that Misa and Parekh are two that are as near to 100% available next year as anyone will get. Those two are clearly ahead of Kingston when it comes to trade return.
Senneke is ahead of him, as are Martone and Spence.
I don’t think Barrie will be a seller but if they move some younger players in an effort to keep Vaughn at the deadline, you could see Beaudoin available next year too.
London has 11 04’s and 05’s on their roster. They could dangle Dickinson and do a measured retool.
I think it is far too early to automatically assume Battaglia will net an ‘09 next year.
