Prospect Info: 2024-2025 Rangers Prospects Thread (Prospect Stats in Post #1; Updated 2/6/2025)

He has been kicked out a few times. I like that he plays with an edge but he needs to be smarter.

Maybe I'm full of shit but it seems to me that the bar for getting kicked out of a NCAA game is a lot lower than it would be for an AHL or NHL game. More often than not the player isn't suspended. If I remember Perreault got kicked out of a game last year and Fortescue has been kicked out at least twice and maybe more than that. Laba does have kind of a hard game. His last year in the USHL he had over 100 pm's.

CC won 3-2 in OT. Laba had an assist and a shot, 4/6 on FOs, and got another ejection for hitting from behind. That's the second ejection for hitting from behind in the last week - 2/1 and 2/8.
Pretty sure I had a stroke or something - CC lost on 2/8, 3-1. Laba did not have any penalties/ejections. No points, 5/11 on FOs, 3 shots, -1.

hes quite physical. reminds me of JT that way.

It's interesting the Rangers liked Fortescue over Mancini. Rangers need d prospects. Outside of Fortescue not much. I don't know much about Dorrington and if he has bottom pair potential, and Emery is probably going to be a four year NCAA stay.

Fortescue has been underrated around here since we drafted him. Glad the NYR at least see he has good potential.

I think it’s 2 fold. A) with the borgen signing they have the right side figured out with emery in the way, and 0 lhd depth. B)didn’t fortescue play with drurys kid? So prob some loyalty to him.

Fortescue is a natural LD, whereas Mancini is a natural RD.

With Fox and Borgen signed long-term, and the Rangers probably extending Schneider after his bridge deal, it makes sense to value a LD over a RD. Purely organisational depth.

I also don't think it's out of the question that Fortescue eventually will be a better D than Mancini. He's 3 years younger.
