It isn't something happened during the game… I watched Rockets' games and he didn't look like he needed hip surgery, didn't get big hit. I don't know where the injury is from…

My gut says Iginla was putting the procedure off until after the WJC. He was playing at a high level with the hip problem so not a valid reason for Canada to snub him. They might have not even known about it.

If he was hoping to make Team Canada (implied by the timing of his surgery) he wouldn't have had a chance if they knew of his pain management.
