Built for the future? Your two best players are over 30 and can both leave as free agents within the next two years.

Aren't the Mavericks going to finally let AD be the PF he wants to be, at least much of the time (ultimately)

Luka is a party boy, with a track suit mafia as an entourage(friends and family from the old country surround him off the court). This is not a surprise.
Eventually, lack of commitment leads to the door.

I will say this- the Luka we’ve seen so far isn’t a championship-winning type player. He doesn’t stay in shape and he doesn’t play defense, all the things I said about him last finals remain true. I actually think in a vacuum if I had to win a title today I would pick Davis over Doncic, and clearly I’m not the only to think that seeing as how this trade happened

The problem is the age gap between the two, Luka still has time to figure things out while Davis is a brittle 32 YO

Luka probably figures it out and goes on to win multiple championships in LA, but it was unlikely to happen for him in Dallas.

I rarely watch ESPN these days, but as one of the talking heads just said “Nobody has more information about Luka Doncic than the Dallas Mavericks.”

It’s pretty damning that they made the decision to cut the cord, and that they seemingly didn’t auction him off.

AD, when healthy is an NBA Unicorn for the collection of skills, unlike Durnant's offensive ability to take over games offensively, AD can provide the impact on both ends, dramatically. Just imagining a frontcourt of AD and Derek Livley (once healthy). That is going to be a lot to handle.

I honestly don't see it working out in LA between him and LeBron.

They're both guys who need the ball to create and be at their best. Neither is a real off the ball threat
