The NBA Cup is beyond dumb. If you want to rip off European soccer at least have a format that doesn't eliminate the best team in the NBA from the competition for losing one group game. 3-1 in group play and eliminated on point differential is just stupid. Or if you want to incorporate point differential then you need to have all teams playing at same time on final night of group play. Come up with something better. I'd even take no group play at all. Seed the NBA Cup like an NCAA tournament and start it halfway thru the season based on current standings. I don't know.

Celtics are out because they lost to Atlanta without their best player. they probably could have tried to run up the score in a different game, but I don't think they even remotely cared.

Everything you said is correct, but I don't care what they do or how they do it. I'm just thrilled the Celtics are not going to be playing high-intensity December games in Vegas of all f***ing places over a meaningless cup when no one gives a shit about it and everything they do should be centered on repeating as champs.

On this note I need to see coaches/players start designing plays where you are immediately going up for the three point attempt. Pritchard had a chance to do that the other night but he hesitated. I agree though. The end of that Cavs game was just a terrible product. Nobody wants to watch that. First and foremost, a team should be able to decline the trip to the line in favor of just taking the ball out of bounds. That seems very simple to me. I think you will see some ideas in the coming years to tackle this.

I don't know if you stole this from someone else but I have to say that this is actually a brilliant idea. You'd probably have to limit that to the last two minutes or something like that but I like it. It still leaves some strategy in that if it's Jaylen Brown with the ball you still might want to foul him instead of letting him take a 3.

I always thought the best solution to "Hack a Shaq" was that if you intentionally fouled a player without the ball (maybe with under 5 minutes left in the half) the other team could choose which of their players on the court actually shot the free throws.

Well yes and no because they still had a chance to make it last night on the stupid point differential scenario. Whether it's losing to the Hawks or the worst team in NBA I still think being eliminated after going 3-1 in group play is just a dumb format.

haven’t watched much Cs this year. Watching between periods. This broadcast with Carter and Scal is borderline unprofessional. It’s just them yelling.

60 three pointers attempted tonight. They already average 7 more a game than the team that shoots the second most but 60 is crazy.

David Bonderman, who was a partner in the Celtics ownership group (as well as the Kraken) passed away. Not sure how much of a stake he owned in the C's, but wonder if it affects Wyc and his plans in any way.

Peyton Pritchard is a bad, bad man. Celtics are all over the Wizards led by Brown, White, Hauser, Kornet and Pritchard.
