Why do I feel they’re going to resign Marner for large $$ and run it back (minus Tavares)? If I’m the Leafs GM I’m making radical changes.

Marner signs for 11m or walks as UFA
Tavares walks UFA
Reilly traded for picks/ prospects
Matthews traded in summer for a haul

Build around Nylander. Shop Matthews to Utah, Anaheim, San Jose for 1st round picks and prospects package.

Tavares is the one guy besides Nylander that i would bet on staying. He had a great season after allegations of being washed up last year. Probably the guy who cares most about winning too. He'll be back on a discount. The Leafs really don't have a choice since Domi isn't a legit 2C.

Agreed on the rest though. Marner is shown the door and i would strongly peruse a Matthews trade. I saw somebody else propose a trade; Matthews to LA for Byfield and Clarke.

There's no reality where the Leafs can "win" a trade, persay, but that's a pretty damn good package.

I'd wager Tavares is back but he couldn't even make a play in Games 5/6/7. He's not washed up but can't handle pace of play in playoffs.

Not everyone loves hot humid weather (with many bugs)... Plus, if you have kids it isn't the best place to raise them for many reasons.

tax free ... but bad health care and schools

No one cares about public schools when they are sending their own kids to elite private schools that likely cost more than most colleges. It certainly won’t cost them millions that they’ll save in taxes. Healthcare maybe but even then these players go to the best doctors nearby or not.

Time you start reviewing Health care and the schools, they are not what they once were, but like someone else said they will send their kids to private school.
