“Hockey Club” is one of the three options for a permanent name? They could only come up with TWO names outside of Hockey Club? Holy f*** that’s sad.

Not to mention the amount of money spent on marketing research to come up with that. Surely Mammoth would be the Utah Mammoths, right? What a disaster.

Also, Yeti coolers refusing a co-existence agreement seems like a terrible decision on their part.

I won't say i'm asking for the move, but given he's now a UFA and would likely be brought in at league minimum? Go for it. Another no risk/potentially half-decent reward.

Would be a far better move than trying to parade Tyler Johnson around as a legit option like they did earlier in the year.

Seems like they left a lot of better options off the list.

Never liked Hockey Club (HC). I even think it's stupid in MLS, this is North America pro sports that isn't how we name or market our teams, leave that HC/FC stuff for European pro sports.

Problem with Mammoth is when I think Mammoth I immediately think of the color brown, like a big brown hairy Mammoth. Brown is one of those colors in sports that should be used very sparingly.

Wasatch is ridiculous, will just make people go "huh" what the heck is a Wasatch.

Whatever they paid these marketing geniuses, it was too much.

It's really something the type of stuff that people getting well-paid to do is so often garbage. My own University has a marketing department with people in it that make more than us faculty and they come up with lamest bullshit (complete with typos, bad grammar etc.) sometimes.
