In the 2 decades since he's won a grand total of 4 playoff series. Been past the 2nd round once. Only two seasons in that decade he wasn't behind the bench of an NHL team.

Players might like playing for Torts more if it actually resulted in on-ice success. His approach doesn't get results. Who likes working for a hard-ass boss that is not running the business successfully?

I still like him, though. He's good for a laugh if nothing else.

Gerard Gallant is the only guy I can think of in the same vein who has burned out quicker at each stop.

Do you have coaching suggestions for next season? HC and staff?

Please don't say Jay Leach.

If Frick & Frack are still in charge, no Joel Quenneville.

I like your Todd Nelson suggestion. David Carle is another that comes to mind, bit of a hockey world darling these days. I don't really have many good suggestions.

I can probably list more guys that I do not want it to be. I don't want Jay Leach here now.

No to Quennville or Boudreau. Both are past their best-before date. Boudreau's now failed on 4 teams. Any team hiring 66-year old Quennville is just making a mistake period.

The thought of retreading Mike Sullivan makes me sick. Didn't like him during his first go-around. And fans here complain about the Bruins playing soft now? Another run with Sullivan would only make them softer. Good luck not running a country-club when you son-in-law is your top D-man and 2nd highest paid player. I think it's a pathetic look to hire a coach that you fired 20 years ago. I want this franchise to move forward not backward. Enough with reaching into the past for every off-ice hire.

Mike Sullivan was a disaster during his Bruins tenure. And I'll say honestly the reasons his Penguins teams won Cups are Crosby, Malkin & Letang. He's floundering now that Crosby & Malkin are running on fumes and Letang is gone.

I'm with you- new coaching blood is desperately needed in Boston.

I know nothing of Todd Nelson save what my friend has told me. It's an impressive resume.

No expert about up and coming coaches, even the NHL variety.

I understand that in addition to the Chicago mess, Quenneville is on the back nine.

I would not hire Bruce Bodreau as an NHL head coach. I simply cannot take him seriously.

No thanks to Mike Sullivan, who should retire and be done with it.

We'll see.

What's the difference between him and Sacco in Regards to Charlie being the #1 and second highest player?

Isn't that been already established now? He can't play anymore than he already does.

I would love to coach a team that has Charlie as the #1, he's a stud

I don't know if being the top D-man on the team or 2nd highest paid player has much to do with it. I probably shouldn't of put that in there.

When (not if) Charlie makes a major mistake on the ice (like he did in last year's playoffs IMO), does his father-in-law hold him accountable?

To me it's a knock, not a benefit, that they are now related by marriage in terms of considering Sullivan for the next coaching position.

Great question there. Charlie seems very well liked by his teammates and deserves an A on the bruins, but cant help to think he'll probably receive some friendly ribbing from his USA teammates on his selection to wear an A for them as Im sure Sullivan had a lot to say about it .

A lot of great Leaders on team USA who wears an A or is their teams Captain.

I found him being chosen to wear a letter for that team somewhat surprising.

I remember being upset that Quintal was included in the deal, rather than Sweeney, who was at a similar juncture career-wise.

My friend was a big Sweeney fan, and I was not, preferring Quintal by far between the two.

With how many playoff games and high pressure series has he played in ? Hughes?

Charlie has been an assist captain and Im sure will be leaned on to shut guys down more than Hughes will be.

Maybe Im bias Seems like Charlie is a great choice
