Tough hunting for a Sen on these teams. Nothing in stone here. If I had to bet I would bet Yakemchuk gets on the team one way or another.
We lean Parekh after he had a better World Junior Summer Showcase (Sawyer Mynio and Parekh also played together there) and because his head coach in Saginaw, Chris Lazary, is on Canada’s bench (though Yakemchuk had a better NHL camp and it could well be him).
It makes sense that they'll want one of those two for the PP . None of the 6 selected are real shut down guys so that may factor in as well

I'm pretty sure Yakemchuk will make it over Parekh if it comes down to a decision between the two.

There will be plenty of players capable of running the PPs for Team Canada, so it wouldn't shock me if one of them was cut, but I think the coaches will view Yakemchuk's physicality and size as something else he brings to the table for the team besides just offense.

Also Yakemchuk is an '05 and Parekh is an '06. Usually the players with an extra season of development under the belts get the nod at the WJC.

If I were picking Team Canada's D I'd probably go with something like:

Dickinson - Bonk
Mynio - Yakemchuk
Molendyk - Brunicke
Parekh

Nice mix of skill, size and two-way play there.
